9-7 at best. The good news is that can win the division. The defense is just not good and I don't look for a miracle turnaround. Watching a defense like the Seahawks, where EVERYBODY hits, EVERYBODY tackles, and the coverage guys, including LB's, are ALWAYS either making a play on the ball or draped on the reciever just makes me sick. The Saints are the freakin opposite of that. Throw in the injuries on offense and this team could slip to 7-9.

+1 and their special teams is as solid as they were last year. No Super Bowl hangover from that bunch. The hunger is still there.

@Detroit- First road win, probably won't be pretty, hopefully not ugly
Green Bay- SNF in the Dome....lets hope we maintain our historical traits on SNF at home. I'll say win for old times sake, we owe them one.
@Carolina- I see win or loss here as of now, both teams aren't that good, maybe similar to the Tampa game, but with a lower score. I'll say its a loss for now.
San Fran- Tough win, or maybe we get it together by now, and look like what we were supposed to, but i'll keep dreaming for now.
Cincinatti- First and last home loss of the season
Baltimore- Brees gets it done and finally beats all 32 teams.
@Pittsburgh- We get back on a winning streak here, but it shouldn't be that easy.
Carolina- We lose to them on the road win at home. I'll follow the trend until its no longer stereotypical.
@Chicago- Cold weather on the road? Maybe next year, we're not that consistent. Last loss of the season.
Atlanta- Blowout win in typical Sean Payton fashion.
@Tampa Bay- We win here pretty well and probably the only road game we won't have to fight too hard for. Tampa gives up usually at about mid-season. Long past being competitive.

10-6 making the playoffs as a 3-4 seed if we win the division depends if Carolina plays well, which I doubt because that O-line is atrocious. I can't really tell how good we are since every other series we look like a different team bearing no consistency in any category except maybe running..? At about mid-way I'll re-evaluate the team, but they don't look all too great right now.

Somethin' tells me we lose @Detroit -- and I hope I am dead wrong. Somebody should bet me to see how serious I am.

I think we win @Chicago.

Other than those two....agreed.

5 of 8 games on the road is a pretty crappy way to schedule any team.

Re: Rest of the Season... Predictions

yep but if you want to be taken seriously you gotta play at the very least .500 ball on the road

Re: Rest of the Season... Predictions

- We lose some home games and win some away games
- We will win the South this year

Two pretty generic answers that fit the bill, IMO ... even if the Saints don't win the Division, I see them somehow finishing at least 10-6 and backing into the playoffs, if need be (see post #15).

I'd almost flip-flop those predictions (and take that bet, ;)), ie W@DET, L@CHI just based on the indoor/outdoor aspect of the games ... waiting to see how DET/MN turns out this weekend to see if the Lions have their heads on straight enough to play the Saints before I can really pick them with any confidence. Right now, the only real advantage I see them having might be "home field", unless their game plan is to kick 9 or more 50yd+ field goals with their new kicker,.

Re: Rest of the Season... Predictions

I took a look at everyone's remaining schedule in the NFC and gave it my best WAG. The way I see it you have:

Division champs:

Seahawks 12-4 West
Packers 11-4 (plus result of Saints game) - North
Eagles 11-5 - East on div record tiebreaker

Wildcards (2):
Cowboys 11-5
Cardinals 11-5
49ers 10-5 (plus result of Saints game)
We beat Niners, they sit at home. They win they are #5

Also rans:

Carolina 8-5-1 (plus 2 games vs Saints)
Lions 9-6 (plus result vs Saints)
Bears 9-6 (plus result vs Saints)
Giants 8-8

Wait until next year:

Falcons 5-10 (plus result vs Saints)
Redskins 5-11
Vikings 2-14
Rams 2-14
Bucs 2-13 (plus result vs Saints)

All of that to say I see us HAVING to win the South to sniff the playoffs AND that will require a 10 win season with 1 of those wins against the Panthers OR a 9 win season with a sweep of the Panthers.

Re: Rest of the Season... Predictions

I voted:
9-7-7-9 at best
We only win home games
A RB will get 100 yards in a game this year.

The ways the Saints are going is that generally they will not win away but will prevail at home.

The defense were bizarrely poor to start the season but are starting to show signs of 2013. All good, however the injuries are piling up and perhaps that is a reason for inconsistent offense as well as defense.

Sure we put up offensive yards but our stalwarts of Colston and Graham are a pale shadow of themselves, the O has extended periods of 3 and out or even worse give the ball away to place the defense under extreme pressure. That is not top tier professional football.

I think that a RB will get 100 yards. Likely it will occur possibly without design, aided by a long burst by one of Thomas, Ingram, or Robinson.

As for "I would attend playoff game". Of course I would. We will have to win the division to get to playoffs and it is possible. The NFC South stinks this season. No team will win it this year. The team not giving away the least will. Regardless I ain't going to get to playoff game anytime soon unless someone gives me their winning lottery ticket.

... still working on the logistics, but somehow, some way ... there's gonna' be a Lions/Saints postseason, part deaux ... who knows? ... can't happen if Lions win the North because Saints won't have the record to be a wildcard (?), but maybe if the Saints take the South, the Lions qualify as a wildcard and/or win the North ... IDK, Lions & playoffs aren't two words that go together all that frequently ... and I'll try to stay out of the live gameday thread, should that day ever come, so as not to annoy the more serious WhoDats, ;).

Re: Rest of the Season... Predictions

Right now it's looking like the Cardinals, Lions, Cowboys and Saints with the Eagles and Packers in the post-season...

Don't see the Cowboys sustaining this level and should they collapse, Seahawks or 49ers will get the other wildcard and the Eagles will take that division...

It's all about the next game and winning at Carolina on four days rest would be huge all around and should tell the tale of the season...

SaintsBro 10-27-2014 10:06 AM

Re: Rest of the Season... Predictions

Even if everybody in the division blows, we can't keep limping along through the season staying a game or a half game behind Carolina. If we do that, then time will run out on us. Need to take command of it right now.

3 and 4 seeds could play each other, but it would have to be for the NFCCG.

Now if you could claim the #2 seed, then we could see you in the 2nd round.

I can't see the Saints claiming a 3 seed or above unless we go on a ridiculous win streak.

And its possible. We've played more road games than any team in the league, which means we have more home games left than anybody.

I think its clear that we're the class of the NFCS, we just have play good ball.
