Still have number 2 passing offense in the league
And number 6 rushing according to wwl which cited NFL.com. Number 2 passing offense IN SPITE OF poor receiver play and a number 6 rushing offense along with good balance between the two is a winning formula. The only thing killing our offense is turnovers, specifically stupid turnovers. If there is a bright side it is that stupid turnovers can be fixed with better decision making. Fix that along with a few less drops by receivers and we can be just as deadly as ever on offense.
Our defense is another story. Here is to coming out of the bye a more focused and disciplined team. |

Run run run.... Pass ..... Run run run .... Pass, that's all we need to do

Re: Still have number 2 passing offense in the league
Our crappy, underachieving, stupid INT, ball forcing, ball dropping offense is still better then most of the NFL.
Bobby Hebert (yes I'm quoting Bobby) said that Drew needs to stop the stupid mistakes because he gets paid too much and people don't want hear it happening - Drew should never let a loss or errors come down to him. I tend to agree with that. We're a couple stupid mistakes away from being 4-1. |

But we're not alone. Games I saw Sunday were brick hands galore. I find this to be a very strange football season. If I predicted the Cowboys to beat the Seahawks, Cowboys to beat us down, Ole Miss and Ms. State to be top 5, much less Miss State #1, people would have put me in a mental institution. Not that there's anything wrong with MSU at #1 or Ole Miss, it's just nothing anyone expected. I'm totally willing to accept other SEC West teams on top. But Cowboys? Romo? Gee wiz.... |
Re: Still have number 2 passing offense in the league
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Our WR production dropped significantly when Curtis Johnson left for Tulane. I dont know what he did while he was w the Saints, but he did it right. He turned a low round draft pick into a stud (Colston), a burner w undependable hands into a clutch receiver (Henderson) and an unknown into an overachiever (Moore)

It's hard to stay balanced playing from behind.

#2 passing offense, yes but #13 in points. It would be nice to switch those by week 10

Now if you were a defensive Coordinator would your game plan against SP be as simple as expect the unexpected? Now what would happen if SP called a straight up game:question: |
Re: Still have number 2 passing offense in the league
Yards don't matter if you aren't scoring at the end of the drive.

Re: Still have number 2 passing offense in the league
Point is that we CAN move the ball. If they stop dropping easy catches and making more connections in the red then its on. I think those are two things that can be corrected.
