Re: Saints / Lions Injury Report

Lorig practicing full with Ingram returning full go should spark the run offense. That is a good sign.

Ah, the enigma of Lorig. Is he actually going to suit up & play Sunday?

I've seen more unicorns in my life than I have seen Eric Lorig in a Saints uniform.

Lorig should be made to fight for his spot

With Austin Johnson as our FB we have the 6th best rushing game, why should lorig come in and take over for a guy that's done awesome so far.

I think Johnson has done a good job too. I wonder if he'll get cut soon. No way we keep 2 FBs on the 53 for very long.

Well, there's is bigger.

As for Lorig, I will not be surprised if both he and Johnson dress and Crabtree is inactive.

I get a horrible feeling Graham will be pushed to play wether ready or not and we will see lots of drops/ball forced to him.

Meh, they don't target Ebron that much anyway ... considering he was a #1 pick and supposedly the next coming of Jimmy Graham,

I do too ... and with Johnson as well, ... normally I don't have too much sympathy for these guys, but Johnson/Graham are special and I'd hate see either one screw up a possible postseason (or season) for just a midseason game ... though it does have some importance ... it was hard to watch Calvin vs Buffalo where he only had 1 reception for 7yds & was having difficulty lining up ... I'd hate to see that on Sunday with Megatron or Graham,.

Ingram will get around 10-12 rushes

Jimmy won't play.

JG listed as a game-day decision. I hope he doesn't play. Whats worse than Brees over targeting JG? Brees over targeting a hurt JG.

I don't all get this over targeting talk, Cooks has 2 less catches than Graham. If he is over targeting Graham, then I guess Cooks is over targeted too? I wonder if y'all still complain about over targeting when he catches a touchdown?

Jimmy Graham 34 376 11.1 23 3
Brandin Cooks 32 255 8 32 1
Pierre Thomas 22 187 8.5 19 1
Marques Colston 15 248 16.5 57 1
Travaris Cadet 10 83 8.3 31 1
Kenny Stills 10 141 14.1 46 0
Benjamin Watson 9 64 7.1 13 0
Josh Hill 7 112 16 37 2
Robert Meachem 4 60 15 23 0
Mark Ingram 4 22 5.5 13 0
Khiry Robinson 3 26 8.7 12 0

what's that matter, when he is targeted on these "dinks" and dump-offs? Stats are mis-leading when they don't back up somebodies argument, just sayin'

True, and I don't see Cooks as the "dump off" guy at all. Most of his catches are because the play was designed to target him.

Why would you use the receptions stat to base an argument?

JG has an average of 9.4 targets per game (keep in mind he missed 3 QTRs).

Cooks has an average of 8.2 targets per game and Colston has an average of 7.3.

because the receptions stat correlates with the "targeting" argument...

Johnson, an undrafted free agent from Tennessee, could retain his spot on the roster. Payton said the Saints have carried two fullbacks before and Johnson's ability to play on virtually every special teams unit is valuable.

Re: Saints / Lions Injury Report

No CJ or Fauria.
Johnson won't be anywhere near 100% if somehow he does play.
Looks like 2 coaches are just playing chess listing Johnson and Graham each as questionable instead of doubtful

Re: Saints / Lions Injury Report

Looking forward to Lorig's pass catching ability out of the backfield. I think he will resemble Josh Hill in the open field (i mean that as a compliment). However, we have been doing so well running the ball it's hard to imagine wanting to change that. Typically you don't change things that aren't broken, but we shall see how he does on Sunday against a very stout defense.

That's bad for our TE corps ... now all we're left with is Brandon "Petti-drop" Pettigrew .... best blocking TE on the planet, hands ain't worth a lick,. I think I recommended him to the FF guys on here after he had a decent season & he ceremoniously went out & laid an egg, ... I don't recommend FF players after that,.

CJ might be out there as a decoy ... they did it vs Buffalo somewhat. It was painful to watch,. Personally, I think it's a good idea to sit him and force Stafford into using his other receivers,.

Fauria was our 'redzone' guy ... I think it was last season where he had something like 5 TDs in his first 7 catches (or his first 7 were TDs?) ... gained a bit of notoriety for his touchdown celebrations ... I personally enjoyed the one at about :30, guess they call it the "gas pedal", I think it looks more like a yard sprinkler, TBH ... did the "Jimmy Graham dunk" vs Tampa Bay, they probably saw enough of that as it is,.

I don't think JG or CJ play. Maybe I am wrong, but I think CJ is still hurt. If he does play no doubt he'll be limited in what he can do. Same with JG.
