Saints away... not at the Dome?

To coaches, players and staff who read these boards, prove predictions like this wrong and maybe fans will passionately run to your defense. :annoy:

If the defense don't get its act together and offense can't find a rhythm I'll predict this game to be worst than Dallas

You know, for as much talk there is about the Saints "not being a road team", the 2.5/3.0 pts they're giving the Saints does not necessarily speak much for Detroit winning this one, IMO. That's just your standard "home team" line ... where's the points for actually being the better team?

I've been saying it all along, and especially now with Calvin probably being out, this is a prime set-up for New Orleans to get their season started, :).

IDK who Cortana is either ... Microsoft? ... is he a "football" guy?.

This will come down to turnovers.

We have owned Detroit for awhile. I would give them the hunger edge. Factor in Reggie and Lombardi wanting to beat up on us this wont be easy by any measure. I am hoping for a convincing win to show we have righted the ship but really would be happy be a 1 point victory.

I'd be pleased if they were ALL 1 point wins.

That's kinda' where it's at for both sides ... Detroit needs to win convincingly over a few perennial playoff teams/contenders to be taken seriously and the Saints need to win convincingly on the road to get the season jump-started ... quite the dilemma, :).

IDK how "hungry" the Lions are, as they've typically turned in a performance that's just enough to get the fans off their backs. It's why you don't see me on the homer bandwagon calling this one a sure win for Detroit ... Payton & Brees alone got more than enough character to carry the Saints in this one, road game or not ... bet..

IDK... If I did not know any better, I'd think you're flying the magic carpet for the Lions. :broccoli:

Dang it! Not the dancing broccoli! ... and if you break down the Lions' opponents up to Wk #7, you'll see it has been somewhat of a magic-carpet ride. I predicted this to be the game where Detroit begins to see if they're for real or not ... I'm half expecting you guys to make me out to be some sort of "Slomo-damus", even without JG,.

I do carry a CDL-A though, don't know if that covers "magic carpets",.

"Slomo-Damus"

Very good! I like that.

Re: Cortana Picks Lions to Win

Ya know, I mean the defense is not playing good, but they have improved from week 1. That said, the offense is where I am most troubled. They have put up a lot of yards, but they just can't get it together. They do not look like themselves. I swear it reminds me a lot of 2007. I am very hopeful, even against a really good D, that our O gets it together today. Gees we just need a decent D if our O goes the way it normally does. Really hope it starts today!

In my opinion, and maybe I am wrong, but I think where we are losing is upfront, and if we can't fix that... we are in trouble.

The last time the Saints played a Caldwell coached team, it worked out pretty well. Defense rises up. Saints win the turnover battle. K. Rob runs hard. WR's make a few plays. Saints 27-19.

Yep. Don't get me wrong, Caldwell has brought a certain maturity/professionalism to the Lions clubhouse that's been missing in the past, but it is also pretty well documented that he couldn't win w/o Peyton Manning ... Stafford, while decent, is no Peyton Manning,.
