What's that smell?

When you throw up all over yourself just before scoring, you know the party is over. This team (clearly a wrong word in this circumstance) has to be blown up and rebooted. It's going to take 3 years, but in the end, it will be worth it. The structure up and down needs to be stripped. There are too many people on this team who are vastly overpaid, underperforming and are genetically incapable of playing at a high level against quality opponents.

Just because you win a Superbowl doesn't mean you get to devastate the future so you can cash in today. Our FO needs to be beetch slapped, tying winning to performance bonuses instead of paying for past performance. Even your stock broker issues the warning that "Past performance is not a predictor of future results," when they try to sell you an investment vehicle.

Earn it every year. This team hasn't earned anything, because it's wallowing in its own putrescence.

Somebody needs to clean up on aisle 2, because it stinks.

No decent organization takes 3 years to rebuild.

It can be done in today's NFL in 1 season. And personnel isn't the main problem in my opinion.

Its a case where the whole is NOT greater than the sum of its parts.

Team is vastly underachieving. But to the team's credit, they have played 4 of their first 6 games on the road. This team has not been very good on the road in the SP/Brees era. Discounting the Dallas beat-down, those other 3 losses were by a combined 6 points.

These road games came against teams that actually play well at home.

Dallas: 3-1 at home (6-1 overall)...we got spanked there by 21
Detroit: 3-1 at home (5-2 overall)...we lost by 1 in final minutes...hell, Mighty Green Bay went in there and scored 1 TD...in 4 quarters.
Atlanta: 2-1 at home (2-5 overall)...we lost by 3 in OT
Cleveland: 2-1 at home (3-3 overall)...we lost by 2 on last play of game

In my opinion (ewww), this 2014 Saints team has played as well on the road as in the past with just a couple of plays determining their outcome.

Should we have beaten ATL, CLE, DET? Abso-freakin'-lutely. Last minute break-downs and lapses in concentration cost us those games. Can these things get fixed? Abso-freakin'-lutely. Will they get fixed? A betting man would take Sean Payton to fix it more times than not. We got the right leader for this kind of job...

I can remember SP saying over the raido the window they have was about 6 years. Well we have went beyond those 6 years with HIS teams. Yes change is going to happen players and coaches move on. Maybe its time to get a new window as he put it, and MAKE some CHANGES.

My thinking is a new window will have to wait until Drew retires, and who knows what Payton does after that. He may decide to ride off in the sunset with him...

Great point and this is why we are still #14 in the USA Today Computer Rankings even though we are 2-4 and favored to beat the Packers.

What's that smell you ask?
