The NFC South Is Even Worse Than You Think
 

You probably already know that NFC South is pretty bad this year.

The problem with that is, you’re wrong.

The NFC South is terrible this year. If you hadn’t been paying attention, the teams that comprise the division haven’t won a game of football since October 5th. Four teams, six games, zero wins.

If the Saints have to be bad, we picked a damned good year to be bad. I’m having dreams of winning a division with 8, 7, or even 6 wins, just so I can wear the best shirt ever made.

Frankly, life’s too short to stress over this season. Any time you have the opportunity to stand up and proudly say “We suck the least!” you might as well take it. Besides, hosting the Cowboys/Eagles/Seahawks/’Niners as a sub .500 playoff team will be inherently fun. We’ll get to enjoy a week’s worth of debate about whether or not the NFL should change the current playoff structure to accommodate such an intolerable suck-fest. The downside, of course, would be the constant reminder of what the 2010 Seahawks did to us, but it’s probably still worth it.

I say all that to say, relax. Any time you find yourself at your wit’s end with this Saints team, remember that we’ve still probably got this. Atlanta is starting a guy at Center who stopped playing organized football in middle school. Meanwhile, Carolina’s best player in their defensive secondary is Roman Harper and Tampa Bay is too busy wondering why the lesser McCown brother wasn’t enough to bring them to the promise land.

In defensive points allowed per game, the NFCS make up 4 of the bottom 5 teams.

really of the 4 teams the Saints is the one team that has their **** together more than the rest. Had the officiating not been the reason the Saints lost in Detroit, could be a different picture right now.

Seriously I remember too many seasons when the Saints were deemed the best team to miss the playoffs. I also remember vividly the 1st time we made the playoffs and "good things come to those who are 8 and 8".

There will be a smile as the Universe if we win the Division. Whatever the record.
