Until the Saints start winning, surging Junior Galette won’t find complete satisfaction
1 Attachment(s)
“The only thing left ... is just winning,” Galette said Friday, two days before the Saints host the Green Bay Packers (5-2) on Sunday night. “Until we do that, I won’t be satisfied completely and internally.”
Galette put himself squarely under a metaphorical microscope when he signed a contract extension that could keep him with the Saints through 2019. The deal is worth up to $41.5 million, $23 million of which were guaranteed — and outside observers naturally went on high alert for any indication of Galette toning down the intensity once he had been paid. Galette, though, stayed true to the form that earned him the extension. On the 188 snaps he has rushed the quarterback, according to Pro Football Focus, he has registered a team-best 24 pressures — six QB hits, 14 hurries and the four sacks. Kind of puts things in perspective when both Von Miller and Dwight Freeney have above 8 sacks on the season, double the number that our leader in sacks has.

If we win against the Packers Galette and Jordan will be a major part of the reason.

JR has been the one bright spot on the d-line this season. Jordan, Hicks and Jenkins have been huge let-downs. In fact, if a poll was put up on who is the most disappointing player so far I would bet it's hands down going to be Jordan. |

This QB pressure thing I see mentioned is BS to me. Or at least it can be biased on how someone sees pressure. Did it disrupt a play resulting in loss of play, negative yard or the QB picking his butt up of the ground is the only thing that matters to me. When I see teams get to a QB AND HIT him early it makes a difference. Even if a QB gets the ball of and complete that pass if he takes a hit and goes to the ground it adds up over the game. These "pressure" stats are like I said kind of BS to me.

Surging?!? Seriously?!?
His sacks were on stunts where teammates took on his blockers... He's not earned one sack beating a man in front of him... Loomis is a freaking idiot for extending his contract... |

Jordan IMO has worked his way out of a major payday, at this point if he is asking for big money we just need to let him walk. For those of you that think I am a hater of Cam just look at my avatar lol. |

I think the deal will come back to haunt them.

Well, I didn't like the new contract when it was announced and certainly don't like it now.
I would rather have seen that money go towards signing Jordan, even with the lackluster season he has had so far, because he is a more complete D-lineman as opposed to the one-trick-pony Galette is. On a side note, Tom Johnson has been looking pretty good for the Vikes in the DT rotation (4 sacks)... maybe the FO should've kept him for close to the vet minimum (845K) he's making?! |

I wouldn't be so fast to get down on Jordan, where the problem is our NT's aren't getting their job done.Hicks and Jordan are fine it's the middle man Bunkley. Jenkins gets a decent push but nothing that dominates the man across from him, we need a stud NT up front, we don't have that.Jordan getting doubled and triple teams are a good thing it shows how powerful he really is.
