Saints remaning schedule

The Saints have three straight home games coming up: 40-whiners, Bengals, Ravens.

Then @ Steelers, home against the kittens, @ Bears, home against failclowns, @ Bucs.

I am not going to say the Saints will win out, although if they keep playing at the level they have and we get some injured players back it is a definite possibility.

My heart says we win 'em all.

My mind says the 9-7 crowd makes a good case.

I'd do the Snoopy Dance for 10-6.

I think we will at least go 10-6. Win out at home, and I don't see us losing to TB. They are terrible and they caught our team before we gelled, and we still beat them.

And you never know, Jay Cutler is unstoppable some games, and completely awful in some other games. If we catch Jay Cutler on a bad day we could easily win @ Chicago as well. But I'm not optimistic about the Steelers game with how good they look right now.

IMO, the weather will be the determining factor in the Steelers & Bears games.

Both teams are definitely beatable, the Bears moreso than the Steelers.

I'm down for undefeated too, Mitch. And, I don't care how crazy it sounds.

4 tough teams in a row. We'll see what the Saints are made of.

The cool thing is, 3 home games in a row. And if we split the next 4 games and go 2-2 (which is very reasonable expectation, IMO), the last 4 games of the season are.....

Panthers at home
Bears in Chicago
Falcons at home
Bucs in Tampa

This team could still easily finish 10-6. I'm not ready to say we're a real contender yet, but get in the playoffs and anything can happen.

49ers, Cincy, Balt, @ Pittsburgh, We probably go 2-2, might go 3-1

Then Car, @Chi, ATL, @TB, we probably go 3-1, but could easily win out

So it looks like we probably go 9-7, which will win the division. I think our floor is 9-7, and our ceiling is 11-5.

Either way that likely wins the division. I just can't see Carolina going 6-1 to finish 9-6-1. We will win it with a 9-7 record.

First test is the 9ers. They're tough. Glad we play them at home this year.

Yep... and their guys are getting healthy on the defensive side of the ball.

Tough task however I truly believe this team is up for the challenge.

Am I crazy to think we are winning all 3 of those at home, losing to the steelers and finishing out the rest of the year winning?

I say we are going 10-6 or 11-5?

Am I losing my mind?

I do too, and glad we get the extra break after the previous short week

Nope. I believe we will at least win out at home as well.

We have won 19 home games in a row under Sean Payton. Undefeated in 2011, undefeated in 2013, and undefeated so far this year.

So until we actually lose 1 or 2 home games, I'm not predicting it to happen.

Here are the records of the remaining teams we will play. This is as of Nov. 1, 2014.

SF - 4 & 3
BALT - 5 & 2
CINCI - 4, 2, 1
PITT - 5 & 3
CAROLINA - 3, 5, 1
CHI - 3 & 5
ATL - 2 & 6
TAMPA - 1 & 6

Other teams in contention for playoffs:

SEA - 4 & 3
DET - 6 & 2
GB - 5 & 3
DAL - 6 & 2
PHILY - 5 & 2
ARI - 6 & 1

After looking at our remaining schedule & the other teams listed here. I feel real good about us winning our division & contending for, dare I say this, the #2 seed.

San Fran? huge test. stop the run keep Kaperdinkle in the pocket and we can win this one i think. they are still running on only 5 cylinders right now.

as for the rest?

win the south is the only goal we need to have. if we do not we all start christmas feeling mighty blue.

What would it take to play at home throughout? Even possible?

As a 3 or 4 seed we must play at least 1 game on the road. If there are upsets we could play the NFCCG at home.

If we beat the 6 seed in round 1. then we beat the 2 seed in round two.

The 1 seed gets upset in the 2nd round by the winner of the 4th seed vs the 5th seed.

We then play the NFCCG in the dome 3rd seed versus the 4th or 6th seed.

49ers are looking to get Aldon Smith back this week. They are going to need him if they even want to attempt to slow down a Saints offense at home to avoid going under .500

San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh hasn't heard from league about reducing Aldon Smith's suspension, reports say | NOLA.com

It's possible. Just unlikely. Essentially the Saints would have to win out, going 12-4, and virtually all of the teams ahead in the conference would have to have a losing streak.

Championship teams are champions everywhere, not just at home. If the Saints deserve it then they need to be able to win on the road.

Considering that to have an 8 game win streak the team would have to win 3 more road games, venue simply should not matter.

Saints remaining road games are Pittsburgh, Chicago and Tampa. The Steeler game will definitely be an acid test.

If we carry any of the form we had over thast 2 weeks into the niners game, we will bury them.

The bengals game is the hardest of our next 3 home games in my opinion.

The Ravens showed they are vulnerbale to the passing game against the Steelers.
