9ers @ NO: What do we know and how do we use it

Someone must have watched this past weekend's Lambs/Whiners game and maybe even a few other SF games. What does this bunch of hippies have and what are our chances of getting above .500? If the seemingly incompetent Rams can beat them, what did they do? What adjustments will be made?

(you might be able to tell that I sense that the season may not be entirely lost, but games like this will tell more than beating the counter girls at Victoria's Secret)

Niners O line is in shambles. Kapernick has zero time to makes plays.

Defense is on the mend but still not 100%.

This is a tale of two teams who's arrows are pointing in opposite directions.

I like us to win at home.

We had some, some trouble containing Cam...

That could be a point of emphasis as Kaepernick has gashed us in the past...

If we sit in our man/zone coverage we should eliminate the big play for the offense and let the Dome atmosphere (such that it's become) overcome and let them make the mental errors we need them to make...

Keenan Lewis should negate Boldin, White/Robinson should be physical and frustrate Crabtree...

Lofton, Hawthorne had better put the thump on Gore and Hyde early, often...

Big question is can Galette maintain containment on the edge like Haralson?!? Junior is constantly looking for the sacks and not securing the edge on runs and quarterback scrambles...

Kaepernick has the ability to move and overcome their offensive line defeciencies...

This is the game where the safeties can make a difference; didn't like the pick, but I think this is a game where Sunseri should see the field...

Speaking of, the 49ers have two playmaking quality safeties; we'll need to attack them early...

That requires slowing their amazing pass rush that is stout with just the front four they rush...

They have the best linebacking corps in the league and that will require Graham and the RBs (what's left of 'em) to really spread them out and make 'em run all over early; may need our guards to get out early with a little pop...

Protecting Brees Right Side and keeping him from throwing his obligatory pick six to the 49ers will be key...

Drew has got to start making his decision quicker of throwing that ball away rather than getting sacked, or worse, surrendering forced fumbles...

This is the game where Ingram has to earn his new contract (whomever that will be)...

Marques Colston, wherefore art thou? Princess Leia is saying you may be our only hope is things are tight...

Is Kenny Stilsl healthy? And can we get the ball to the Cooks kid we spent a first, third round pick on?!?

What is it with the Saints Offensive Planning when we spend these picks and we don't feed them the ball?!?

Damn, you wanted them bad enough, ****ing use them!!!

Are you talking about Stills (5th round pick) or Akiem Hicks (3rd round pick in Bountygate year) or Armstead? :-?

Thanks Fin, Clarified the ambiguity...

JP,
I think you covered it in a nut shell. Not really expecting much from the 49ers even with Brooks and Willis back on Sunday. 49ers are reeling and we are finding our 'mojo'. Kaep does not trust his o line (they stink right now), center etc. Niners of the past would pound with Gore, and pound some more but now they are attempting to pass and it's not working.

I wouldn't be surprised if we grab a hold of the throat early and pour it on in the dome.

i loth them still to this day! NFC West days are still alive and well in my book. plus if we are to talk playoffs this is a team that must be beat.

sorry pound.
opppsss maybe destroy works better.
nah better yet wiped from the face off the earth.

you know what even complete Annihilation that probably would not make me happy. ok i may grin a bit. with sadistic satisfaction

now lets get this tie breaker in our back pockets

stay in lanes and keep gap assignment intact. Keep kaperdink in the pocket and pound him into the turf

You have just maligned the character and talent of both hippies and Victoria Secret sales people. You are an educated person -- it shouldn't be difficult for you to find better metaphors with which to insult the Whiners.

I personally have never met a Victoria Secret sales person I didn't feel afraid of.

The game against the Rams wasn't as close as the score board recorded. The Rams recovered a fumble for a TD -- but it was called back unfairly. They should have won by at least 10 points. Of course, the Rams offense is also scary bad.

But, the story of this game is 9ers O-line. It sucks and so does their QB. They were penalized so much in the 4th qtr. -- at their own end of the field -- the announcers joked that if they kept it up they'd be backed up into their own locker room.

Kap has been sacked 14 times in the last 2 games. They have also been penalized for 106 yards and have only run for 142 yards in the last two games.

"Jo-Lonn (Dunbar) did a great job recognizing sneak. You can just kind of tell by a quarterback's mannerisms when they're going to sneak." said Laurinaitis.

Somebody needs to give Jo-Lonn a call and ask him what Kap's tell is.

My big fear is The Dude. Will he keep the D that's bringing us back, or will he get bored and try to fancy it up? Fancy didn't work earlier this season and it's not going to work now. If Rob follows the KISS philosophy, then we win by fourteen. If he gets fancy, we chew our nails down to the nubs, Drew throws a pick six (anyone else notice he tries to overdo it at times -especially when he gets nervous?) we drink even more than usual and those bastards go home winning by three.

If they are in FG range we should bring pressure on 3rd down. Against the Rams, Kap made so many dumb mistakes and was sacked for big loses (out of FG range).

We can bring pressure but we must keep outside containment. Jr can't keep crashing the inside giving up the outside or Katlick will burn us with the run.

Re: 9ers @ NO: What do we know and how do we use it

We need to do what St Louis did to him. Blitz this dummy. He has no clue how to read a defense and he gets flustered when he's put on his butt.

He becomes dangerous when he creates time in the pocket and he has the arm to zip balls in when receivers can create separation. And when he gets time he has the speed to exploit our defense for big gains with his legs. If we don't get pressure on him and force throws or keep him dancing back there he can slowly eat our defense and get confidence. I'd love to see an all out blitz on his first snap and just plant him in the dirt no matter what happens on the play to set the tone.

I like the way you think Lumm. I agree, Kap has been sacked so many times lately he's gonna be having PTSD. Send Cam and Junyah after his a$$ the first play.
