Drew Brees Late Fumble Dooms Saints in 27-24 Loss to 49ers
 

It came down to overtime where the Saints were again unable to complete the game and put final nails in the coffin, this time it was the 49ers. On an overtime drive, Saints QB Drew Brees held the ball on a pass play when the pocket collapsed and Brees fumbled the ball when he was hit giving San Francisco excellent field position at the Saints 20 yard line. The following play, the 49ers kicked a field goal to win the game in overtime.

Let's not forget the Saints had them backed up on a fourth and ten in the fourth quarter and they allowed a deep pass down the middle to the twenty to set up that overtime win for the 49ers.

I don't even understand how that happens, it happened in the browns game as well

Embarrassment of a team we watch every Sunday, I really feel sorry for the season ticket holders, being made to watch that crap every week.

I am not embarrassed by this team. It is hard to win in the NFL. It takes natural talent, skill, work ethic, and luck. It also takes smart management and coaching. We are a good team this year. Just not a great team.

The fact that we aren't out of it already is luck. I doubt that will get us a game win in the playoffs -- but -- you never know.

Brees should get NO BLAME....Corey White and Vaccaro are the bums this game....better play from them and we win this game

You're joking right? None? Oh....look at your name...this was a team loss but you hold you leaders accountable more so when they don't perform to a level that you are accustom to. You expect him to come though in the clutch not make bone headed mistakes.

Not going to say any names but any other QB would have been the worst thing ever this year.


The defense was decent beside that 4 down play but they gave the offense plenty of chances.

Brees should get most of the blame. Our defense actually played OK for most of the game. Brees' turnovers, WR drops and play calling are to blame before White and Vaccaro. That 4th and 10 bomb was on Vaccaro. I thought White played OK.

Vaccaro is the worst starting safety in the NFL.

No argument here. He has played about as poorly at the position as you can play.

Agreed

No need for Brees to force that pass into triple coverage, then we had a guy average nearly 4.5 yards per carry in the game and choose to throw into a triple covered Kenny stills on 3rd and 1!!

Colston dropping a perfectly thrown ball that would have likely gone for a TD.

Still Vaccaro only had to play smart and we win the game, he failed to do that
Corey messed up on the play also, he should have covered Vernon Davis who was wide open, instead corey stood there not covering anybody
Vaccaro saw he was wide open and flew down to cover him, leaving crabtree wide open.

Complete mess, Brees says he will never stop being aggressive, but he's not being aggressive he's being idiotic

9ers couldn't cover cooks, I don't know why we didn't try to get him more involved

Different position when you think about it.

KV played as the 3rd safety last year and it worked out well. I am not so sure he is the FS we thought he would be. Honestly this KV we are seeing reminds me of Harper a lot. Hope he turns it around but I would love to have Jenkins back at this point, Jenkins and Bush at safety would be fine by me.

Some bad personnel decisions on Jenkins and Sproles. Could have saved money by not signing Byrd too. Hindsight is always 20/20...
