What play makes you the most nervous with this team?

I love me some Saints football but this team is bad for my health. Just wondering what play makes you the most nervous as you watch this team play?

There isn't a 49ers-Saints game every weekend. But if there were, I'd be bipolar.

And you should all come the watch the game over at my house. I live 2 blocks away from the heart hospital.

Colston running after the catch and defender trying to force the fumble.

typical niners saints game.

turnovers and blown assignments killed us.

i got some pats on the back with our cloud coverage IQ from some pats fans i watch the game with. that was totally embarrassing as a fan in a foreign land. I hung my head in shame at the end of this game

Kenny is still a work in progress as a true SS.

+1. Kenny V has been flat out terrible in 2014.

I find myself sometimes watching other games when the Saints play defense. It's a loss waiting to happen.

Vaccaro has been horrendous this year, missed tackles and assignments, to think we were calling him a great pick a year ago.

First half of the season anytime the Saints hiked the ball I got a sick stomach!

Very true. This year he has yet to prove anything. Really was hoping to see more from him and others but the only good defensive players we have are Lewis and Lofton. This team has so much potential its crazy.

Consistency is not there in every position. Not sure how anyone can answer this thread question in the space provided.

Re: What play makes you the most nervous with this team?

Here's what scares me the most:

We apparently have a coaching staff incapable of learning from the past.

All freaking game: Anquon Boldin (Sp?) is running free but you continue trying fancy pants sneaky defenses instead of jamming him off the line and punching him in the mouth (metaphorically).

Overtime: 3rd and 2, a RB who has just run for 100 yards, and you call for a pass.

Overtime: Completely abandon the run but don't max protect so they can send the house after our crummy OL and Drew gets a beat down and fumbles.

And this is not the first game this has happened, this is the norm. And it has been for at least the past two years.

I just don't get it.

Coverage scares me; I'm lumping the whole secondary in with Vaccaro here, Lewis the exception...

Re: What play makes you the most nervous with this team?

Our team has serious issues that continue to haunt us every week

Payton may be the best coach we've had, but we watch our team fail at the same things every week and that starts with him

Doesn't help when Brees throws into triple coverage or Kenny Vaccaro and Corey white both decide to leave a receiver open 50 yards down field on 4th and 10.

The difference is Kaep turned the ball over once, Brees turned it over 3 times - twice inside our own 30 yard line and once in the opponents red zone

Kaepernick may have stalled, but he didn't force any passes and SF played the field position game knowing eventually their defense will come through for them.

I voted Brees dropping back, I know int.'s are going to happen but let any player other than Brees turn the ball over that much and he's either benched(yes Payton has a doghouse) or he's a gone pecan!! Maybe a good benching to give a little reflection wouldn't hurt. I would like to see what Griffin can do at least a good look.

Re: What play makes you the most nervous with this team?

I had to vote Drew as well. Floating it out to the flats, throwing into triple coverage, trying to extend a play and doing something dumb. It really is more than I can handle stress wise speaking. Second place was Graham although he has put a decent streak together.

Empty backfield on 2nd and 2 when the running game is working.

Brees is a phenomenal player who does mess up at times but has carried this team for so long. He is a leader, a captain, and the face of this franchise, and you just don't bench somebody like that. To be honest, I read in another post that he was booed in the SF game and I don't think that was right. He is not a flop or lazy and prepares more than anybody on that team. He is an ultimate competitor and his mistakes bother him just as much if not more than it does us. One of his downfalls is he panics under pressure and tries to do too much. Give that man some good protection and watch what he can do. Hell, just go back and watch the Green Bay game. To expect him to be phenomenal without good protection is like trying to have sex on sleeping pills....you might get the job done, but you'll be sloppy and inconsistent and theres a good chance you wont finish strong.

He had phenomenal protection before the half and still threw the ball into triple coverage.....

True, but he had pressure in his face most of the game. That's why pressures can be just as effective as sacks....that will cause any QB to make bad decisions. Look what happened at the end of the game when he trusted his protection....he got hit from behind and fumbled the ball. Your right though,he should have never thrown into triple coverage. I just don't agree with the fans booing him. He's done way too much good to be criticized so harshly for the mistakes he's made. Although he is contributing to our loses, his mistakes are not the reason we are losing games.

Drew made mistakes last year but we had the defense that could bail him out
I understand the fans point of view, they are paying their hard earned money to watch our team shoot themselves in the foot the exact same way every week

The NFL has and always will be a what have you done for me lately, and lately they have done nothing but let us down
I think it's wrong to boo Brees alone, but people have become accustomed to such high level play from him that when our team starts struggling and he makes a dumb decision the whole situation is magnified

Brees deserves a lot of the blame but so does the defense, they've had multiple opportunities to help Brees and failed to do so
Still, Brees is responsible for 12 turnovers so far this season, until we lower the turnovers, we won't be looking at better than 7-9.

I think its more of a problem now than it was earlier in the season, SP's playcall has been questionable

I agree that we should have ran Ingram on 3rd and 2, the 2nd and 2 play was doomed from the start as soon as we opened in an empty backfield, the 9ers were blitzing all game

I think we should have utilised cooks more, the 9ers could not cover him

They were so aggressive on the blitz, a fly sweep or reverse to cooks could have been lethal.

Re: What play makes you the most nervous with this team?

3rd and 3, 3rd and 2. I almost can't bear to look anymore. A couple of times, I was actually glad when the frat dudes in the row in front of me all stood up on 3rd down, I could just cower in my seat and listen to the crowd reaction to figure out what happened.

Also empty backfield on 2nd and 1. I get that Payton is Payton and Drew is Drew and the Saints are sometimes going to have opportunities to take their shots, but it seems like lately NOTHING good ever happens on 2nd down with that empty backfield. Now it looks like a holdover relic from a different time and era, back when that stuff used to work.

Re: What play makes you the most nervous with this team?

Simply put....

The people who are unhappy with Brees do not know how good we have it right now. Those people will be in for a huge letdown when he is gone and we have another QB, because there's a very good chance the successor to Drew won't be as good as him.

He makes some mistakes, EVERY quarterback does. Nobody is perfect. But more often than not he is amazing and he always gives us a chance.

I agree but in his defense he isn't getting much help and Harper is not there for QBs to exploit.
