Great vibes coming from the team

Can't say it much better:
"We know we're a good team. We're 4-5, but we're a scary 4-5," cornerback Keenan Lewis said, according to The Times-Picayune.

Saints players show mixed emotions: Were 4-5, but were a scary 4-5 - ESPN

Cheer up fans.

6-1 the rest of the way!!!

Yeah they scare me with how bad they are at closing out games.

"A scary 4-5"? Is that a testimonial to just how good under-achieving can be?

Cripes...

Agree. Then the last 2 minutes a depressing one.

Teams we play the rest of the year will game plan more to keep the games close because of our collapsing in clutch time

Re: Great vibes coming from the team

So how does one game plan to keep the games close? That's just crazy talk. I know we've struggled closing games this season (to say the least) but I am certain there isn't anyone on our schedule looking to "keep it close w/ the Saints so we can beat them in the last seconds" mentality.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you!

Cincy Baltimore and @ Pittsburgh will be as tough or tougher than San Fran was. We better be ready or they'll kick our freaking teeth in.

I don't agree completely, but then I don't disagree either.

I'm so confused...

So many of you here are better talent scouts than I am. I go a lot on feel. Vibe. Karma (lol).

Still, having been unable to watch most of the games this year due to my divorce (our games and other team's games too), I'm in 2nd place in my pick league with a record of 97-48, picking straight up. My point being that there must be something - some credibility to my approach. It ain't just luck.

I can't get it out of my head that this team, our team, is about to go on a run. The evidence for it isn't clear I confess, but I can't convince myself otherwise. I smell trouble for our next 3 opponents. I can't justify it really, or maybe I'm just too lazy to try. My gut tells me we are exactly where we're supposed to be - that THIS team needed all this drama...all these close, heartbreaking loses.

We're going to come together. We're going to win the division. I'm going to stop short of predicting we win it all - too many variables - but we're a dangerous team, and I think our guys are about to recognize that they've had enough and that they have all they need, right now, to change their collective fortune.

Don't believe me?

Hide and watch...

It looks like we end up 9-7 with the NFCS lead and a playoff berth.

Don't worry, 73. He can't actually explain it because it IS crazy talk. Why would any team who COULD go up by three scores against us actually game plan NOT to?

Re: Great vibes coming from the team

I agree saintfan. This loss feels a LOT different than the Lions loss. I can't really speak to why, but I said the same thing after the game yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised to see us win 5 of the next 6.

Then again, based on how we've played thusfar, it also wouldn't surprise me if we went 3-3, & missed the playoffs altogether.

What a strange season, across the board.

I'm hoping we run the board from here out however I'm prepared for some high draft picks next year if not.

I think we will beat cincy and Baltimore, but I think we lose to Pitt in pitt. We win out the rest of the sched after pitt and go 10-6

Re: Great vibes coming from the team

I think we win out. No way we lose 2 in a row at home and got to believe in prime time at home Payton and Brees get their first win against the Ravens.
Pitt is too up and down and I think we can beat them. After Pitt I believe the rest is a cake walk.

Mardigras9 11-12-2014 01:47 PM

Re: Great vibes coming from the team

I see PITT and Chicago as issues. Chicago only because of time of year and they have been terrible at home and that is bound to change (usually our luck). Having the two division teams that have a chance to overtake us having to come to the Dome is a huge advantage. However, let us not forget, beating Tampa in the Dome wasn't easy and could easily have gone the other way.
We keep waiting on the Saint team we think we have to take the field and finish the season strong, but there has only been sightings of such. Again this week we will take our places as fans and see.

So the only game we got blown away was Dallas.
Lot of close games which supports the theory that
this is a highly competitive team and could finish
out with 6 out of 7 wins down the stretch.

I hope you guys are right and this team is ready to go on a run.
But, I have found "bad breaks" are usually the result of bad play.
Things don't just "turn around" for teams that execute poorly.

Re: Great vibes coming from the team

lol. We are only a few points away from being a one loss team. So essentially we could be 8-1.
Unfortunately being a good team is what would have gotten us those 8 or so extra points. We struggle at the beginning of games and choke at the end. That is why we have a losing record and can't get to .500.
He can talk about being a scary team when they start finishing games.
As a matter of fact that mentality is exactly why we are a bad team.
You can't settle with a losing record and say "well we could have won them all so we don't suck that bad" Instead you say "we got beat and we hold ourselves accountable, the way we are playing isn't scaring anyone"
I hate that "aw shucks we will get them next time" mentality.
If these guys really think anyone is scared of them they are delusional.

Re: Great vibes coming from the team

You guys are having what is typically a "Detroit Lions" season ... it'll happen now & again, just as the Lions are having a "New Orleans Saints" season.

The upside/difference is, you're probably gonna' win the NFC South, get in the playoffs & it's all gonna' come together at the right time for ya' ... bet. It ain't the boy's first rodeo ... keep calm and enjoy the ride ... I still think this thing is gonna' somehow work out for ya', ;).
