Being the drainee (and young), I don't recall if they did a steroid shot or not, or if that was even the protocol at the time. It was not a pleasant experience, ![]()

Thought about something in that regards watching the All Blacks/Eagles match in Chicago the other week. Rugby guys go full out, full contact, yet don't experience the high percentage/type of injuries NFL players do. Why? It's the pads/protective equipment. Take it away, simplify, convert the NFL game to a more rugby-style game where the players aren't all padded up & you'll eliminate a lot of the injury issue, players will be on the field more, you get a more consistent level of play, a game that crosses international borders & is worldwide (like the NFL is trying to do), plus it'll finally make us competitive in world rugby circles ... can you imagine the athletes on NFL rosters being converted to rugby stars? Be the same as when they sent Jordan & the Dream Team to the Olympics, ![]()
