1 Attachment(s)
Seven Saints players missed practice Wednesday, their first day of full preparations for their game this upcoming Sunday: RB Pierre Thomas (rib/shoulder), WR Robert Meachem (ankle), RB Khiry Robinson (arm), RB Edwin Baker (concussion), CB Keenan Lewis (knee), LB Curtis Lofton (ankle) and P Thomas Morstead (illness).
Running back Mark Ingram (shoulder) and LB David Hawthorne (hand) were limited. Tackle Zach Strief (chest) fully practiced despite being listed on the injury report. Thomas and Robinson have missed the past three games hurt for the Saints (4-5). However, Thomas was participating in stretching and individual drills in a portion of practice open to the media Wednesday. Meachem missed the last game hurt. Baker left the last game early. Lewis' injury forced him to sit out a number of snaps the last game. Lofton and Morstead have played every game this season. Ingram has played every game for the Saints since the Week 6 bye. Hawthorne missed the last two games. Strief played last game despite missing an Oct. 30 win at Carolina early. For the Bengals, RB Giovani Bernard (hip/clavicle), LB Vontaze Burfict (knee), TE Jermaine Gresham (thigh), S Taylor Mays (foot), G/C Mike Pollak (knee) and DB Terence Newman (knee) were out of practice Wednesday. LB Rey Maualuga (hamstring), RB Cedric Peerman (knee) and T Andre Smith (ankle) were limited. DB Leon Hall (concussion) was a full participant. Don't know why they continue to list the opponents injury report, it doesn't make a difference to us
We lost to the browns without their leading receiver Ditto with the lions Lost to the 9ers without their two best linebackers |

The sooner Thomas is back the better.
Cadet just isnt up to the job as a 3 down back or a returner. Man i want us to sign somebody that can start returning some punts. Might help if the rest of the ST can sort out some blocking too |

If I'm not mistaken, Thomas had some big time catches vs Tampa that helped us to win the game. We need him badly.

Thomas and Ingram can be a great 1-2 punch.

Re: Saints running back Pierre Thomas present, but listed among seven out for Wednesday's practice
The problem for the Saints isn't Thomas and Robinson being out. It would be great to have them available, but Ingram seeing most of the snaps has been a good thing. Lewis missing some time is another story. The Saints can't lose their most consistent player on defense.
