We looked great against the Pack, we gutted out a road win against Carolina. We lost a very close game against a tough conference opponent in San Fran. Then came a massive let down game. I think we come back very pissed off against Baltimore and have a really good showing. I truly think we have an excellent chance of losing 1-2 of our last 6 and taking this division. Atlanta has a brutal schedule and Carolina is plummeting faster than Cam Newton's passes. This team needs to pull their heads out of their asses and man up and take this thing.

Hmmmm losing 2 games back to back in the dome... that just has bad all around it... have be peaked... I dont even think we have even came out of the hole in the ground we seem to be in....

I tend to agree. At least from a talent standpoint.

But against inferior opponents, why hasn't our "A game" materialized?

Because our defense has struggled mightily, and for the most part its looked mental.

If our defense had performed as expected, or even middle of the road, we'd be looking at 6-4 (maybe even 7-3) instead of 4-6.

Since we have basically the same or better talent than we did last year when we were a top 10 defense, I have to put the blame on Rob Ryan and his crew.

If we peaked with GB & CAR, these last 6 games will be hard to watch.

With us & ATL tied at 4-6, we should see a waaaay better showing on MNF than against CIN yesterday.

But I can't help wondering is this: If Cleveland beats ATL on Sunday, will we actually show up on MNF against Baltimore since we wouldn't lose any ground in the division with a loss? I think this is a very legitimate question now, and it is sad, sad, sad that it'd even be a question worth wondering with a professional football team.

Well the defense isn't going to improve especially considering recent injuries.

It staggers me that we can come out and play a game like we did against the Packers, yet, the rest of the season has been near on rubbish!

Also the short lived break through game with Green Bay, Rodgers was playing with a tweaked hamstring.

We peaked during pre-season, our D was playing lights out and our O was finding their groove, amazes me how quick out D got crappy and our O has played so up and down since. I see no heart or fire on the field, the hype is long gone, this 2014 team just stinks. Our window may be closed and we just don't realize it.

To be truthful, I don't think we did anything that special in the Green Bay game. All the bounces went our way (in particular, the deflected interceptions Rodgers threw) and Mark Ingram did work on the ground and the Pack isn't very good at run-stopping.

But years from now people will look back at our schedule this year and wonder how in the HELL did the Saints beat the Packers?

NO, as bad as our record is, we are still in a fight for the division (as pitiful as that is).

You know what grinds my gears? Dixon playing over SJB. Undrafted rookie from External SW Missouri Southern A&M State playing over a freakin' 2nd Round pick is a travesty. Screw that notion of SJB being a pet project...if he's a project, use a 2nd Rounder that can help with depth during the season. One of the stoopidest moves we've made in a while unless SJB gets his @$$ in gear and helps this secondary like now.

This is what a 2nd Round pick is supposed to do at least by this point in the season...contribute. Dude had OTA's, Training Camp, 4 preseason games, and now 11 weeks in the NFL. If ol' dude learns this slow, imagine what it'd be like with his in-game adjustments? Sharper than a bag of wet hair.
