Season ending IR? I thought this was a 4-5 week injury? Have we thrown in the towel for any chance of post season play or are we starting fresh next year with our 1st rounder?

Cooks was the only real WR we had. Mid season crisis, coach young GF midlife crisis, ISIS...uhhhhhh. If I was Cher I'd turn back time to 2009.

I guess what I was eluding to is that if Cooks has a 4 week healing type injury and there are 6 games left, why was he placed on season ending IR?

If we can turn the ship around, he would be back by the Falcons game, no?

Has to be more than a hairline fracture for IR. Must have been a real bad. A real break can take a year to heal.

Cooks isn't the only receiver we have.
4-6 weeks, plus another couple shaking off the rust. It's the right move. Besides we need the roster spot.

I'm more interested in how the O line and defense respond.

I'd rather the team wrapped him in ice than rushed him back and risked the chance of a re-break and damaging him long term.
Cooks only turned 21 in September and has 12-15 years as a Saints if healthy.

We have officially begun the end of year, season done, place on IR, coach saving process

The front 7 on defense has to step up for the Saints or they won't win another game. The secondary is a bunch of scrubs as it is now. The Bengals made a point of stopping Ingram and Brees couldn't win it in the passing game. With Cooks out, teams will single outside, bump Graham at the line, and bring an extra guy down in the box. It ain't gonna be pretty.

A broken bone takes 3 months to fully heal... No use in risking a re-injury with 2 games left in the season(initial time table)...

Well we really needed a punt returner to replace Cooks. Neither Coleman nor Jones return punts.

Had it been Colston or Stills, I think you would have seen Coleman or Jones brought up.
