It was all Drew Brees fault that he went off the way he did... /sarcasm

Rhymes with "Dorsett" therefore enough credentials to have a killer game against the Saints D!!!!

Is anyone still doubting now we need a stud NT and a pair of lb'ers. I would love to see Jordon on 1 side Hicks on the other a stud NT in the middle, JR. on 1 OLB, a draft pick or really good vet on the other OLB position , Lofton on the inside with a stud ILB next to him, I run this in my head all the time to no avail. That my friends would shore up so many holes in this swiss cheese D we now have it's not even funny. Sure isn't funny to get the rock pounded up the middle time, after time ,after time, after time and time again!!

A lot of the mock drafts agree with you and have the Saints picking up LB first. I can understand that but still think we should go star CB if available. Teams are allowed to run because we have to throw so many people in coverage because our #2&3 (p-rob,white) can't cover in zone or man. We constantly hold them to short gains up front and then get to third down and 7+, our secondary often gives up more then necessary for a first down.

I think LB or NT is necessary but with 2nd pick or 3rd pick. There is a lot of depth at LB this year so we could go further when looking for those.

Also, the blitzes we throw at offenses barely work now because the opposing QB can just throw it in a WR general area and they will beat our CBs. Except for Lewis.

I was gonna say, Lewis is a stud. If we clone him 3 times we would not only save on salary cap and actually get tons more bang for our buck, but the secondary would actually be good.

Believe he had a pectoral tear. I was concerned there would be a big drop off. Seen it before with a that injury if that's the case.

Last night was the perfect example of why a 3-4 defense gets owned if the other team has a great zone-blocking scheme and the OL to execute it. And Kubiak's the master of it. It wasn't even bad tackling last night, it was just running lanes galore.

I agree with the first part, but not bad tackling? We missed tackle after tackle. There were multiple long runs that could have been cut down by proper tackles. Just off the top, I can remember one by Kenny coming up on run D and one by P-Rob against T. Smith.

Side note: Was trying to find defensive stats, came across this gem. Another clear sign of terrible #2&3 CBs.

"Though only targeted five times Robinson surrendered four catches and missed a tackle on Torrey Smith on two of those plays. The first came on an out route allowing Smith to add yards to a third down conversion early in the fourth quarter before he let Smith get away from him over the middle of the field on the Ravens final drive converting long yardage into a manageable third-and-two."

Re: FORSETT vs Saints D...

I fought all the Ryan doubters up until now. We are killed by injuries but it's still obvious that he has no idea how to re-scheme with new players. Every team has injuries, maybe not this many, but injuries. So we need a D-Coordinator that can change schemes and call smarter plays on crucial downs.

I think we have to get a new D-Coordinator next year. Anyone have any ideas of potential coaches for the job if the Saints decide to go in that direction.

Forsett set the tempo for that game.....we were on our heels the entire game. Our LB'ers are sub standard. We certainly need another NT but what we really need are good LBer's. Dear Lord please get me some LB'ers.

LB'ers....get me some LB'ers!
Oh, and smite my enemies. Amen.

Re: FORSETT vs Saints D...

John Jenkins was getting pushed around like a 240# nose tackle and running like a 425# nose tackle. With Bunkley gone we will see a lot more of this loser. It's gonna be a long game at the Steelers next week. Look for ANOTHER RB to have a career day. The worst part about the DL and LB's, they have all been at the top of the depth chart since pre-season. These are the guys they wanted from the beginning. I only see four worth saving. Hicks, Jr, Jordan and Lofton a back-up.

As Gruden pointed out, Jenkins was simply playing too high, he needs to get his pad level lower. Its a common problem among big men and its entirely coachable, you just have to stay on them about it. They're a bit high maintenance in that regard.

I'll bet they work on that with him all week. I suspect he'll play pretty well against the Steelers next week. Just a hunch.

Bunkley was injured and Jenkins was a terrible replacement. At one point Gruden said that the Saints needed to get him off the field he was so bad.

Bell is a patient runner with great vision. Way better than any other RB from last years draft class. (don't like Lacy)

It would take a miracle to be decent against the run on sunday. Big boys need to show up or it will be easy 150+ yds 2 tds for Bell.

Re: FORSETT vs Saints D...

I thought for the longest time and still do that you build your team up front first. The biggest and best OL you can assemble. Same with the D side of things and then you start filing in the other spots. When you lines fall apart you got nothing.

You can have Bree's and speedsters but when you need to run the ball or need to control the clock or get inches at the goal line for a TD you're not going to be able to pull that off.

We were totally exposed.

Agree completely. I'm a Jim Finks disciple on building a team. The closer to the line of scrimmage, the more important the player is. Always take the stud big man over the stud little man.

Obviously this can be accomplished in many ways since interior big men can be acquired in the middle rounds, but the point remains...

Solidify OL and DL first. Everything else is easier.

Forsett is 5'8, listed at 195 but probably 185-190 and runs a 4.6 40. Not Adrian Peterson by any means although we made him look that way.
