Ravens make key plays to hand Saints third straight home loss

Teams win when they make plays. Teams lose when they don’t make plays. There was a great illustration Monday night in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
In the first half, Joe Flacco, under pressure, threw an errant pass right to David Hawthorne. If he catches it, he would have likely returned it for a touchdown. He dropped it. In the third quarter, Drew Brees, under pressure, threw behind Jimmy Graham and Will Hill picked it off and returned it 44 yards for a touchdown. Brees played great in the first half. He could not have played any better. Still, the Saints only led by three points. There was little margin, if any, for error. The error came in the second half and the Saints would fall to a better team. In defense of Brees, his pass protection was woefully inefficient for most of the night. READ THE REST HERE |
