Here's a question: Did Payton go from Us vs Them (coaches vs players) to Us vs Them (Saints Organization vs NFL)?
None of us know but I wonder about that. |

The Saints players, coaches, and many fans are in denial about their talent, effort, and team this year. They are 4-7. They have earned it. In most years and for many organizations that brings on a serious house cleaning.

Payton needs to reevaluate this team like when he first came here in '06. Bill Parcells "The Tuna" told him to find out what's wrong and fix it fast.....starting at the ground up. That was great advice and he needs to do it again this off season. Payton, Loomis and Benson should have a panel of qualified professionals looking for the next round of coaching talent and doing back ground checks on them already. Our scouting department needs to be blown up too it looks like. We just aren't getting the small school gems anymore and that was the recruiters saving factor. Oh, and if Rob is sticking around let him pick his own assts. with a little help from the front office.:bng: |

Maybe the suspension has mentally pushed SP out of the zone. If you look at it he hasn't been the same since his return.

this coaching staff has been gutted. we have lost so many good assistant coaches over the past few years and have not done a great job of replacing them. that maybe the biggest issue we have,
start chasing some of the coaches we had when or if the become available again. first target Dennis Allen when it comes to a draft remember scouts and jump and scream for a player all they want but in the end it the head coaches and the coordinators who determine who is picked. The front office in new orleans does not have that kind of power. |

Players make plays.
There are guys who can play in the moment, then there are others. Looks like we have a bunch of others, especially on the defensive side of the ball. We have scored enough points to win most every game this season. Defense has given up a buck-fifty on the ground almost every week. Hard to win like that. Allowing teams to convert 3rd-and-12 3rd-and-17 week after week and can't get off the field. At least twice this season we let receivers get behind us with less than 2 minutes left and a lead. Mental toughness still requires talent. It seems that we've taken a step backwards in game time readiness. |

Lack mental toughness? How about this just isn't their season. Unfortunately, it happens. Everything that could go wrong this season has. That has nothing to do with being tough.
