Season over - and other musings from my (least) favorite sports network

Usually dont pay much attention to these guys but I have to say I agree totally with there analysis. And the folks here that want to bash Brees needs to read this. He is only one man. When your O puts up over 500 yards, you have to point the finger at the real problem. Yes the O missed some opportunities but with no running game and the abysmal play of the D, our goose is cooked. And now we have killed our perceived vail of untouchable at home and prime time. No one is going to be scared of us and the way we are playing, they shouldn't be.

I'd have thought as bad as we are we could take out a Seattle or Dallas In the Dome.

After 3 straight home losses I'm afraid that you're correct that the intimidation of playing in the Dome is MIA.

You also win best avatar, Mike

First we couldn't win on the road - won a game
Then we were unbeaten at home - lost 3 home games
Then we have a 19-0 record on MNF - lost that aswell

Can't blame anyone that says our season is over, because it is

We can't win at home now what chance do we have.

In my mind, it's evaluation time for coaches, assistants and more importantly PLAYERS. Weed out guys who lack desire, heart and a will to win even when it's dark.

We still win the division and probably the first playoff game in the Dome. After that, probably get beat badly, but anything can happen. Let's get to the dance and go from there.
As bad as it is, we are still tied for the division and control our own fate. Does anyone in here think Atlanta or Carolina is playing better football than us? Not me.
Division title and then nothing to lose.

One thing is for sure - we're as far under everyone's radar as a submarine at crush depth.

More power to the Falcons if they think they can win it. At this rate whichever team wins one more game may win the division. History will be made again.

Can't say as I read the Skid Britches article (for obvious reasons ... my "smoke blown up my butt" gauge is registering full-capacity at the moment, ;)), but I tend to agree as well.

It's a simple comparison of the #9s, IMO ... Brees/Stafford ... who'dya rather? Brees, who despite lacking an offensive line or defense, keeps ya' in the game, completes 70% of his passes w/22 TDs and QBR of 98.1 or Stafford, who despite lacking an offensive line but having a decent defense, hasn't seen the end zone in eight qtrs., completes 59% of his passes w/13 TDs and a QBR of 53.2? Both have similar situations going on, yet one is able to maintain his composure and still perform at a high level. Who'dya rather?

The grass is not always greener on the other side (for the Brees detractors), be thankful for what you got on this, our national holiday. I drool at the thought of having a QB of Drew Brees' caliber, if not DB himself, taking snaps for the Lions. They'd be a legitimate SuperBowl contender if that were the case. JMO.

I'd take Brees in a NFL-minute ... just sayin', ;)
