How would you guys prefer to see the season play out?
 

There are two ways of looking at this. Either the Saints win the division and lose probably embarrassingly in the playoffs like every year when we actually have good teams, or make a deep playoff push which i think at this point is highly unlikely.

Or not win the division and get better draft position? To be honest could we really even win a playoff game against another team? I dont think we could beat the Jaguars right now if we played them. Currently we sit at 10th in the draft, now i dont know the type of talent the draft has yet, but we could certainly pick a top tier player for one of our many needs. If we're one and done in the playoffs we would jump all the way to about 21st. The talent difference between 10-21 is huge imo. We could draft some playmakers. If the front offfice could draft them, dont get me started on the crap.

I'm not saying suck for players, but at this point do we really want them to win some games to only be disappointed in the end? Nothing would make me happier to see us win the super bowl with a losing record., but really do you think it is possible with THIS team? I'm not condoning losing out, but at this point it would be better for our team in the long run.

This is an easy one, win the division and hope for the best. We know a major retool is needed, so this may be the last playoff chance for a while.

Win the next 5. Go into the playoffs healthy. Win at home. Travel to Arizona and win. Have the other wild card team advance. Have the NFC Championship in the dome. Win. Go to the Super Bowl and beat the Bills. (LOL.) Have the best CB, OLB, RT, WR, G, C, and RB in the draft fall to the Saints in the draft in rds 1-7. Sign the best UDFA's in history to take the place of Byrd, Grubbs, Watson, Bunkley, Lofton, S. Graham and Hawthorne to clear some cap space. Hit the Powerball. World peace. :)

I admit to not being the fan of college game as many of you.

That being said - are there 1-2 players in the top 40 picks (assuming we did finish bad) that are going to turn this thing around fast?

No team in the playoff hunt scares me. Playoffs are all about getting hot at the right time.

We have just as good a chance as anyone to win it all. Besides, having a late 1st rounder means we might actually select a top OG, OC, DT or LB.

At this point I would say it would be nice to win it just to keep Atlanta or Carolina out, but it might be nice to watch one of them get in and get embarrassed. I think I would just prefer to lose out and get better draft status. I think of all of us Atlanta looks like they are actually improving as far as their play. Coaching is hurting them them just as bad as the team is.

Just read that Corey white only played 6 defensive snaps vs ravens - one of which he surrendered a 40 yard catch on

To make things better, P-roblem gave Torrey smith a 10 yard cushion on a 3rd and 2

If all of them don't get cut this off season I'll seriously suspect SP is wanting us to fail.

I wouldnn't say I am afraid of any team quite in the fashion of Seattle last year, but I wouldn't be too enthusiastic heading into a playoff game against really any team thats in it currently, and as this 3 game stretch has shown not even at home.

With that logic I guess it makes sense to win the division, we might be in it for the long haul. We seem to be ultra-competitive one year, then cant get it together the next year in the Sean Payton era. One up year for every down year basically. So i wouldn't be surprised if we're back on our feet next year. Maybe this team needs a little fire to burn under them for the off-season. If we could get fluke lucky like New York did, hey i'll be happy with that.

Yeah I don't really even see an issue cutting them now to be honest. Him and P-Rob are complete trash. White is more agressive than P-Rob, but coverage is just as bad. Those two have to go along with Hawthorne, Joe Vitt, secondary coach, and the special teams coach.

One, defense all out blitzes every down.

Offense goes for every 4th down and just long bombs post routes every play

Somebody from the NFC South is going...Let it be the Saints..ugly as it might be.
We are as good/bad as any of these scrubs.
Once we are in we're in.
Once we get in all we have to do is:
...actually fall on a fumble when it hits the ground.
...actually seal the edge and let someone else make the tackle.
...actually make the interception when the other QB doesn't see you standing there.
...actually turn and look before the ball wizzes past your ear hole.
One playoff win and then on to the next...
The draft and free agancy will take care of themselves.
The current 54 just need to get on the same page and help cover one another.

The way this division is going I believe the "Champion" will have a losing record, win a playoff game and still have a losing record! If it's the Saints that accomplish this don't be surprised if the "Saints Rule" is initiated for next years playoffs. "No team with a losing record will be allowed to participate in the playoffs." Love Roger Stick a fork in them, they're done!
