Saints worked out several defensive tackles

Not sure how current this is.

Recently the team worked out several defensive tackles including Kyle Love, the massive defensive tackle formerly of the Patriots.

@RavensInsider: Saints recently worked out defensive tackles Michael Brooks, Jermelle Cudjo, Kyle Love and Garrison Smith

We needed a big ole pot roast to clog up the middle. One that can shed blocks and tackle of course.

Btw, what was the name of that big NT we had during Aaron Brooks era? His name slipps my mind.

Norton Hand and Glover... best combo we ever had IMO.

We need a pass rushing DT the most. With Foster getting hurt the only pass rusher there is Walker.

We need to find that 'NASCAR' package... Hicks shouldn't be a part of it.

La'roi Glover wasn't big but he was quick off the ball and Very disruptive...Warren Sapp type of build...

Kyle Love is a monster of a man. He played pretty good as a starter for the pats. he was released for Type-2 diabetes. In today's world i am surprised that is a reason.

His release was surprise to everyone in new england. He would not be a solution alone but could be a piece to the puzzle.

Effective but after one bull rush he was tapped out. No telling how much he costs the team in oxygen tanks.

Here's the story on that. Weird...

Quote:

In case you had any doubt as to the truism that professional football is a ruthless business, wonder no more. Two weeks after he was diagnosed with diabetes, former New England Patriots defensive tackle Kyle Love was released by the team via a non-football injury designation.

“This comes on the heels of Kyle having been diagnosed within the past two weeks with Type-2 diabetes," Richard Kopelman, Love's agent, told ESPN Boston. "Naturally, we are disappointed that the Patriots decided to part ways with Kyle, especially in light of the fact that a number of elite professional athletes with diabetes – both Type-1, which is known to be far more difficult to manage than Type-2 diabetes – have had very successful careers in professional football, hockey, baseball and basketball.

“Prior to the diagnosis, Kyle recently experienced unexplained weight loss, but since being diagnosed and having altered his diet, Kyle has regained most of the weight he lost, is in good health, and was not limited in any way during offseason workouts in which he was engaged up until being told he would be released."

That's a strange reason to release a player, especially after they have diagnosed it and he altered his diet accordingly

Jay cutler has diabetes, he doesn't get released.

We should use Hicks at NT if Jenkins wont get it done and then put deaderick at DE

Wouldn't that be nice if this move worked out well for us? We could even have a player for next year.....not just to finish out this season. We do wonders with retreads here in New Orleans.
