Maybe we won't make the playoffs
 

Interesting trend that in the NFC each year half or less of the teams that made playoffs the previous year went the next year.


Last year from 2012's playoffs, Seattle, SF, and Green Bay remained playoff teams while Atlanta, Washington, and Minnesota missed out.

In 2012 from 2011's playoffs, SF, Green Bay, and Atlanta remained while NO, NY, and Detroit missed.

In 2011 from 2010's playoffs, NO, Atlanta, and Green Bay remained while Chicago, Philadelphia, and Seattle missed out.

In 2010 from 2009's playoffs, NO, Philadelphia, and Green Bay remained while Dallas, Arizona, and Minnesota missed.

Green Bay and Philadelphia are going to remain. SF and Carolina are not. The third spot is between us and Seattle. Seattle is winning in Philadelphia and if they miss they will have to lose to SF and at Arizona.

anybody know if season ticket holders are required to buy Playoff tickets or lose their seats the next year? It would suck big time to have to buy home playoffs tickets for this group if they stumble in at 7-9.

Playoffs ? Playoffs ? I say we are lucky to win 1 more game... if the team that played today shows up to any the rest of the games... How about that offense.... HA ... What a joke...

Yes, the teams in the playoffs we match up better against than the teams we lost three of our last four to.

Sorry ... Playoffs ... Are you still talking Playoffs after that display of dysfunction ... Not sure you can even think about winning another game if we can't show up to beat Cam the Scam Newton and the Panthers ... I'm done ... Sorry it would be an embarrassment to have this team in the playoff ... What would be the point ... We don't matchup with anyone!! ...

Hell I'd love to see the playoffs. I just don't know if this team can win anymore games.

We beat arguably one of the best teams in Green Bay and go to Pittsburgh and rough up a pretty good Steeler team. Then we come home and lay an egg against Can Newton and the lowly Panthers. I don't get it.

We can't beat the teams that are not elite but think they are(Cincinatti, Baltimore, Detroit) cannot beat teams who suddenly played inspired(Carolina yes they played that way did anyone think otherwise after we went and won week 9 and got cocky?). However we have been in close games or won against the elite teams GB, Pittsburgh, and should have beaten SF but.......thank Colston.

Same thing last year we get killed in St.Louis, New York, Seattle(defensive team) but win in Chicago and should have won in New England.

We may play on a home field, but we have lost any advantage that a home team may have.

These home fans walked out at the 4th quarter. Those footsteps are heard all the way up in Benson's suite.

Well, if we're being honest, the Dome is only half full of "real" Saints fans anymore. After 09 it become the fashionable place to go and be seen and socialize.

I can't really blame anybody who left today though. Normally I wouldn't say that, but the team just totally laid down and quit. It was embarrassing for me to watch and I was just watching it on a computer screen 800 miles away.

You know what, I get the feeling the players had the same attitude many of the posters on this message board had.

Before the Steelers game, according to this board, we were one of the worst teams in the league and we needed to rebuild from the ground up. We have a solid win against the Steelers and all of a sudden we are going to win out and make the playoffs.

From a messageboard persective, this is ok, we can be ignorant / one-eyed and think things are just going to fall into place. As a player, you can't, but unfortuantely I think the Saints just thought they could walk out onto the Superdome and win. Well guess what, the Panthers came out and gave us a good old fashioned lesson in work rate. We got way ahead of ourselves.

I know you're hurtin' bro, but no one in Detroit makes the mistake of thinking they're an "elite" team ... at least anyone over 30 that has a lick of sense about football, :rolleyes:.

Should have traded Jimmy Graham when we had the chance

He's barely targeted on game day and drops passes that come his way

Having atleast 1 first rounder for him would have done nicely.

I saw three drops yesterday. I can't find the stats on this crappy hotel computer. Drops from everyone. Dropped passes, injuries and lethargy. Sad display.

I would still take Graham over any other TE in the league but I feel ur frustration. We don't do very well with first rounders anyway.

4th qtr? I wouldn't have faulted someone if they told me they bounced at halftime in this one.

Not saying I'd have done that. Just saying I wouldn't have faulted someone else for it. The team acted like they didn't wanna be there, why should the fans?

I wasn't able to attend this one live, however I turned OFF my TV mid way 3rd quarter & helped my kids with a science project. Just couldn't stomach much more. No fight whatsoever.

After watching Gronk this year, he's clearly better than Graham.

Yes, Graham is good. Yes he can dominate mismatches but by nature, that's what a mismatch is...

Gronk however completely steamrolls anyone who gets in his way.

Right now, Josh Hill is performing on Graham's level.

I have to say that JG is nowhere near the Gronk talent. I am talking about "catching the football". That guy has glue on his hands and makes Brady look better than he really is. In every game I see bad throws from Brady (behind receiver, too low, 2-3 yds off target) and somehow that monster makes tha catch (sliding, diving, out-muscling opponents...).
Brees has to hit Jimmy in the chest every time or place it right above him for grabs. Small margin for error. And now he is dropping those also...

Plus it doesn't matter who lines up on Gronk, he's physical enough to beat them

If someone gets physical with Graham he wusses out for the rest of the game.

what the saints need to help Jimmy out is a WR that is not afraid to go into the middle of the field. that was the big difference between Cooks and Beckham.

I am hoping Breshad Perriman, South Florida comes out myself. Brett Perriman kid. every one has him as a third but he maybe one of the surprise picks on draft day going much higher than people thought.

This is an area that has been killing the saints. IMO

It is interesting. However there are teams like Green Bay (referring specifically to the NFC) that have less problems reaching consecutive playoffs.

(Thinks: maybe scheduling could be a reason and some of these declining from playoff teams are playing the likes of Green Bay in the following year).

However that is not the reason the Saints may not make the playoffs.

I couldn't make this one either, but I had to turn the sound off in the third quarter. I can't believe fans were Booing their own team. I sure hope whoever bought my tickets was not in that embarrassing group of fans.

This season in particular Graham has been horrible on drops and toughness. This season and last Colston has been too high on drops.
So this season, we have Colston and Graham, once our main tandem, competing for dropsy championship.

Well, Atlanta lost, so Saints are still in the hunt, :). I know it seems dubious, but you still gotta' hold out for the Division title, IMO. It is what it is. Sometimes it doesn't matter how you get there, as long as you get there.

I want you guys to ask yourselves, "what would teddybarexxx do?" (WWTBXXX), and then do the total opposite. Let that be your guide the rest of the way and at least see how the season plays out, :).
