That's what I like to see! A potential diamond in the rough that we can keep an eye on. At 6' 3" with 4.5 speed he could have some potential so it'll be fun to see how he develops.

I had a feeling Jones would get the call. With all of the dropped passes last week, he can't do any worse if given the opportunity.

Glad Jones is to be given a chance! . . . . That puts out a message to the rest of the team that even in this late stage in the season, Payton is willing to give some new blood a try and that no ones guaranteed a playing spot if they don't perform.

Colston and the rest of the gang better make sure they don't drop the passes on Monday or we may see even more new names on the field for the next game!

Maybe we could IR a couple of guys and raid another teams PS and get reinforcements from there. Surely, we've been keeping an eye for good players on other teams PS's in case our back ups go down like this year.

I didn't hear the interview, but comments I read say he's going to have a different role.
Sounds like he's gonna go back to the big nickel role in three safety sets which he excelled at last year. So it's technically not a benching, but it sounds like he's not gonna be the SS in two safety sets anymore.

If Graham's shoulder is truly as injured as they say then someone needs to take his place. He's good but a one armed TE is a liability in all phases.

Yeah...

Not much "change" has been talked about, even with the KV 'benching' we all know he will be playing in the game and not much has changed. The cutting of Morgan was news but how that will fix this D is puzzling, third best offense and we cut WRs...

I am interested to see the Bears game, I want to see what changes have actually been made.

The only change will be better effort from players. You can't make players play significantly better if talent isn't there. Yes, few players can be better/smarter on defense (Galette, Vaccaro) but most of the guys are playing at their talent level ( slow LBs, soft D-linemen, below average CBs...)

On offense solid O-line protection and reduced number of drops would be nice.

D-line made most of the guys look better than they actually are. Now they are just out of shape and soft. Other guys exposed...

Yeah, and we're pulling scrubs off the street.

We knew Jean-Bustiste was a project, but I think just about all of us thought he'd get some quality playing time in the 2nd half of the season.

I just hope the problem is that he was simply much more raw than we thought, and can contribute next season.

His a$$ has to be raw from riding the pine. Are we ever going to see this guy? Secret weapon maybe? Althyough Gallette was raw? If SBJ is a 1 trick pony, I hope it's man to man.

One of the best ways to develop defensive talent is with special teams play, which is why its so puzzling to see SJB inactive. Then the one game you put him in for it's on a extremely important play at the end of the game and with some zone coverage (that he sucks in). I truly don't know if this organization knows how to develop talent.

Bottom line; we need to see SJB get some decent playing time as the #2 CB. At the very least he should be activated on game day to get special team reps.

At this point of the season SJB could be developing slower than coaches initially anticipated, his attitude or the kid's football IQ simply isn't that good.
