I am fine with it the way it is... You can't penalize a team for winning their division.

You want to host a play off game you win your division.

I don't think it penalizes anyone, it just rewards good teams.

Personally I would like to see divisions go away all together. You play all 16 teams in the conference once and the top 6 teams make it in.

Exactly. If you're going to have divisions in a league, you have to have a reward for winning your division, ie guaranteed playoff birth, host first round, et...

The divisions are there to promote regional interest & rivalries. Deal with it NFL!

Re: More cries for reseeding

If that happens the next cry will be the top 6 records. Start down this road will ruin the nfl. It takes away the division rivalry. Imho

So what happens when we win the Superbowl with a losing record? Will global panic ensue?

nah- it will be like a double elimination tournament where the team coming in to the finals with one loss has to win twice

Even though the South is horrible this season the NFL playoff structure is
in the books. However knowing RG it will become a major talking point despite the outcome if one of the teams does move on.

like everyone said, dump the division and go conferences. Then they will be screaming when they are on the short end of the stick with that set up. So shut up already.

Make it more like the Premier League, 'relegate' teams and watch the interest in the NFL wane. I think it works for the PL because fans are more loyal to their local teams, but don't think it would carry over to the NFL. The system they have now was developed to create more interest in the game with the type of fan you have in the US and put more teams into the postseason. You can't change it just 'cuz it doesn't work out the way you planned one year,.

Actually, I'm kinda' looking forward to the Cowgurlz sittin' at home with an 11-5 record or better,.

Keep divisions for qualifying, but use overall record for home field advantage

This isn't new... you dont remember getting beat by the hawks in 2010?

People/writers complained about it then as well. The fact is most posters on this board are bias right now because it benefits us, but in 2010 the shoe was on the other foot and this board was on the other band-wagon.

Stay consistent people.

Re: More cries for reseeding

oh boy we adopted the pansy overtime system college so why not adopt a panel to decide who makes it in based on strength of scheduled at the end of the season too.

go one more step and make power division and pansy division. pansy play for pansy championship. then all the fans are happy.

thus is stupid

Re: More cries for reseeding

Next will be the call for a (S)BCS. Tom Jackson, Chris Berman, Peter King, Bob Costas, Chris Collinsworth et al can vote to determine the top 12 teams that should make the playoffs based on how they feel about the way the teams are playing.

Or we could just use RealClearSports' powering ranking averages and just call in a day and hand the Lombardi to the #1 after week 17.

Way back, many used to say the Saints was the best team not making the play-offs.
So I have no probs if we somehow make it to the play-offs this term.

if they are that good then they should hit the road and give the other teams a shot. we are talking about making this fair right.
lets not just go half way. lets go all the way.
worse teams get home field.
