Playoff math now simple

Saints 2-0 = NFC South champs

Saints 1-1 (beat Falcons): need Carolina to lose to either Browns or Falcons

Saints 1-1 (beat Bucs): need Carolina to lose to Browns and to beat Falcons

Saints 0-2 = start planning your draft party

Re: Playoff math now simple

And if we can beat Falcons and Johnny football beat the panthers next week then we could rest players week 17

Re: Playoff math now simple

Looks like Colston got his groove back tonite and some nice play from the Defense. But it was the imploding Bears thanks in part to Aaron Kromer.
If Julio is still gimping we can beat Atlanta.
The Browns seem to be leaking and Carolina has found some spark that game is not a given either way.

Put Hoyer back in
The Browns have a good defensive front

So what you are saying in reality is we have a slightly better chance of about 20%? :bng:

Honestly, I think Carolina has the edge.

Atl will be war (in a short week) for us, and Bucs have found a way lose 12, but are in almost every game. Unlike the Bears, they have not folded up the tents. I don't think they roll over for us.

The Clowns are a better team than their record. I'm not sure we are. The Bucs' players are clearly playing for a future in the NFL. We are going to have to work hard to take this one. Any loss and it's over.

Panties can beat/will beat the Manziels, but they won't beat the Clowns.

We've developed an awful habit of blowing teams out on the road only to come home expecting to win and getting whooped... Gotta stop that on Sunday. Beat the Failclowns and we're in the clear. The Bucs put Gerald McCoy on IR which helps us greatly and by week 17 I expect they'll be packing it in.

who would have thought we would be a better road team this year... what a crazy season, can't win at home, can't lose on the road.

Saints have to win, can't bank on any of the other scenarios. Johnnie Football is aweful, and Atl/Car can go either way.

disagree
if we beat Atl, they won't even show up for Carolina.
They are not going to Rise Up just to give us the division

We are TD favorite this week, and will probably be giving 8 in Tampa. Good teams win. We'll see

I just want to win 7 in a row just once this season...

This gives a little more detail and explains the scenarios. This weekend's game is going to be huge.

New Orleans Saints can clinch -- or be eliminated -- this week - ESPN

Your optimism never ceases to amaze.

I have just one question -- who is gonna be out with injuries for the Falcons? They are a better team than their record shows -- or we are about as good as ours. It's gonna be a dogfight.

Who says they are a better team than there record shows. They have as many, if not more, issues than the Saints. And who says we are about as good as our record shows?

The dome will be rocking on Sunday.

Saints pull away from the dirty birds 2nd half.

Well, besides me, Drew Brees, and I bet Sean Payton thinks so, too.

But, I'll be less worried if Julio does not play or plays poorly due to the hip injury. Rumor is he will play.

Um, in case you haven't noticed, we have only won 6 games this season. And, we seem to be winning away and not at home, so....

I'm betting we win though, Guido, just not easily.

Re: Playoff math now simple

We can not start the falcons game with turnovers. We need positive drives and good defensive play, which means turnovers and no big plays by the birds. The crowd needs to be deafening at the least. Domination will be the key for a sound victory.

I know Asamoah (OL) left against the Steelers, but they still did not get a whole lot of pressure. RR needs to study that tape, bc Atl picked up the blitz most of the day.

Obviously, Jones is the big one. We don't have 3 guys that can cover White, JJ and Douglass

I don't know if any noticed, but Garrett Hartley signed with the Browns this week. Would it not be sweet if the Browns beat the Panthers with a FG while we took care of business against the Falcons? Too great not to happen.

The Falcons are scary. I admit. I know how excited they'd be just to put us out of it. I haven't hoped more for a win in a while. I know at least once in the early 90's a situation just like this happened and a late Michael Jackson 80yd TD reception eliminated us.

Yeah, but it's more likely he clanks one and crushes our hopes again.

we'll learn a lot about Johnny Money this week- hopefully he is reading all of the articles about how bad he blows, and steps up and proves us wrong
