White was one of the guys that quit vs Panthers. I remember watching Prob chasing White's guy while he was just standing there doing nothing.

We haven't and I hope we don't. He's a somewhat physical corner but he does not react to the ball very well and often becomes a dear in headlights when balls are thrown his way flailing or grabbing needlessly. I think he plays his best ball in the nickel back role. Playing him at saftey where he might have to decide which side of the field to give help to is just asking for trouble.

Even when defense plays good they don't get credit it's oh we'll Jay Cutler was at QB as if he's Geno Smith or some other subpar QB

But you did take everything away from them

White has been wholely ineffective when he was placed in the role of #2 DB because PRob was playing like PRob has since he made the team (clueless). I don't think White is even a Nickle DB, he's gone by next season if we pick up any DBs in the draft (hopefully).

Now, PRob, he's done far better this season as the Nickle and I think that's kind of his ideal role. He gets to use his athleticism but isn't depended on to cover a primary receiver. I'm glad he's bounced back in that Nickle role but I say he's still a bust as a 1st round pick.

Know White was projected as a Safety...

But I wonder with the awkwardness he seems to have in turning and locating the ball if he'd make a better Safety over Cornerback...

Gotta think Warren and Frederick have earned some love...

I just hate to close the book on a guy based on his past, but come on, look, the guy is from that astounding football powerhouse of Samford. No, not Stanford, which has 22 players and multiple coaches in the NFL, but Samford. He was always a stretch, a project and a big reach, always -- and our defense is so drastically bad that we really don't have any time for projects or reaches or hoping that certain raw people will eventually pan out, get it together and somehow magically catch on.

Of course I love when we hit the jackpots on offense with the unknown Pierre Thomases and Marques Colstons of the world, unloved guys from small schools, but defense is a different animal....As long as we keep having all these guys in our secondary that are from places like John Jay Haircutting College, or guys on defense who had water polo or dodgeball scholarships and never touched a football until coming to the Saints, our defense is going to continue to be abysmally bad like it has been. The reach picks are not working.

I feel like we desperately need more guys from Pac 12, Big 10, SEC, type pedigree schools. People say that we lack the leadership we used to have on D, and look who most of those guys actually were. Vilma, Roman Harper, Will Smith, even Sedric Ellis. These are all big school guys, from BIG programs who know how to produce big time players and on-the-field leaders.

In the words of the great Albert Einstein

D-Line pressure ÷ Bears offensive line + aggressive secondary = INT
