If by "shift in the air" you meant a change in the team's attitude, then yes, I definitely felt and saw that last night. Whatever Payton did to the team during the week, to get them motivated, it really worked out last night.

If you mean the Falcons are going to be a pushover, or the Panthers are going to fold up against the Browns and Falcons, then, no. It is going to be an absolute slugfest to the finish and we have to win out. They control all the tiebreakers and other out-of-our-hands stuff, so neither the Panthers or the Falcons can be counted on to give us any help.

I think we have a 60/40 shot at winning this game.

Julio scares the freaking crap out of me. He's been Megatron-ish of late. No one else on that team does, but he can carry that team.

The only advantage the failclowns have over us is their Week 1 win. After the Saints win Sunday, the advantage shifts 100% to the Saints because we have beaten teams that beat the failclowns; they were swept by the AFC/NFC North and the Saints went 1-3 & 3-1 respectively in those games.

I get what you are saying, man, but.... can you really count those chickens just yet. I am talking about the tiebreakers as of RIGHT NOW, and the real world of Carolina and Atlanta's positions, and what happens if the Saints might lose....if the Falcons win Sunday, then the Saints are not in charge of anything anymore. As of right now, today, the Saints need to win out....that's the reality....They had an earlier chance to put it all away vs. Carolina in the Dome, and look how that turned out...

No doubt. A good week of preparation will be key, whether it's bracket coverage or forcing Matt Ryan to throw into tighter spaces. There will be mis matches but hopefully Rob can some way, some how neutralize Jones.

Kennan will be up for the challenge I'm sure :lightsabres:

I have a sneaking suspicion that Julio's injury may be more debilitating than we are led to believe. Don't forget, a similar sounding injury ended Bo Jackson's NFL career. I would be shocked if he was held out and wouldn't be surprised if he was very limited if he indeed does play.

I don't think we need to worry about Julio this week. Not that it matters, as I have little confidence in this team regardless. We should win. If we play like lastnight, we will win. But will we? Who knows anymore.

But back to Julio... Considering how much they need every game, and he still couldn't play against the Steelers, tells me his hip injury is no minor thing and I highly doubt he'll be anywhere close 100% this week. He might not play again. Either way, he should not be much of a factor.

On the NFC South Extreme board on Facebook dogfood eating failclown fans have been posting since October that they were winning the division ONLY because they hadn't lost a division game!

Yep, we will destroy them even worse than we destroyed the Bears. The very next week we will go to Tampa and get crucified just like we did in Carolina and wind up missing the playoffs. I would bet money on it.

I wanna be optimistic here but I am vaguely reminded of like a 90 or 91 team that had its playoff hopes crushed by a Falcon team late in the season. Michael Jackson finished us off with a long TD. The Falcons scare me. Matt Ryan lit up our starting secondary. What will he do to our practice squad which is now our starting secondary?

I think this is going to be one of the best games these two teams have ever played. This will be a playoff game.

I think that's possible. I read up on a hip pointer and it sounds nasty. 3-4 weeks, so even as an athlete coming back after missing only one game, not sure you're 100%. Plus, he has to run and cut, so yeah I don't think eh is 1005 even if he plays. He's good though so we better be ready

which porous defense can force the most 3s and make that one or two crucial plays will decide this game. i am ready for a barn burning myself.

If we play the same type of D we did in CHI then this game might be over at half-time. The real key to looking forward is the consistency they are able to build, a great game doesn't mean anything if we can't build off of it and move forward.

A bit of a reality check for me this morning while watching the first half of the Chicago game. One of the commentators said that the Chicago D had 5 rookies on the field. In all reality we should have scored at least 50 points.
