If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

that they are overrated, too short, getting older and no longer is elite they would absolutely speak up in a big way over it. Brees is getting slaughtered by the media for his oline play and he does not have cajones imo to speak up about it. Brees should start standing up for his fans who have to endure the treatment by the media about his arm strength, his accuracy, his age, etc. Because I as a fan am tired of it.

Re: If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

they both have heard it. Tom did earlier this year.

they went out and won as a team and now both are gods

The issue is winning as a team.

we are seriously missing something on this team. this is a totally dysfunctional family that needs help.

how to deal with a dysfunctional family like the local and national media is impossible. small minds with little for sight and could care less about responsibility for reporting facts.

objectivity has nothing to do with state of things. it all has to do with micro analyzing and sensationalizing what ever they can find to generate conflict and increase their circulation.

remember one thing

These are the same writers that had the division crown and super bowl bound printed up before camp even broke. Idiots the lot of them.

there are very few honest reports left that do not sell out for ratings.

it all entertainment tonight reporting now a days.

They are professional athletes and get paid a ton of money to:

a) Perform
b) Tune out criticism when they don't

Re: If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

Saints front office need to follow NE approach with players. They don't believe in over paying & if you don't produce, show you the door quickly.

There needs to be a revolving door approach down in New Orleans if we want to get truly serious about winning titles again.

and against some of his own fans who are saying so also?

He is a professional sportsperson. He knows the best way to overcome the current bout of criticism is to deliver, not talk about it. Ditto the other side of the coin, in that when he is the flavour of the moment, continue to deliver. Not sit on one's laurels.

The media? They are all crap, as far as I am concerned. They generate headlines to attract your attention, preferably for you to get involved with them, so thay can attract more sponsorship. This is the modern world. Where it is expected that punters will get suckered.

Stay solid within your own environment of WhoDats. You want to go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see our troubles are all the same, you wanna be where everybody knows your name. That's here buddy. Stuff the media, stuff other team's fans. They do not matter.

It has been ALL YEAR.
There is no issue with him, only the lack of ability to protect him.

Re: If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

I don't think Brady or Peyton have thrown as many late game interceptions with the game on the line as drew has.

The O line deserve some blame, but drew is not completely blameless, he's made some very questionable throws this year and it's killed us quite a lot.

I don't think the defense can be blamed for yesterday, they held ATL to 13 points for 3 quarters, drew had the chance to win the game in the 2 minute drill and he messed up yet again.

I agree that Brees has made some poor decisions. BUT he is a rhythm/timing QB. Because of his lack of size and arm strength the offensive line needs to be very good to keep everything else on schedule. When he's on the run and can't step into his throws it's going to look ugly.

Brady and Manning have both had this issue from time. Brady went through it earlier this year while the Pats o-line was in flux. They got better as the season went on, and now he's an MVP candidate.

We need to get this o-line squared away in the offseason and that involves some tough moves. I think we have to move on from Evans and Goodwin at the very least. For the first time in a while I like both tackles but the inside of the line needs a good overhaul - at the very least two new starters (including Lelito) and Grubbs returning at a sizable pay cut.

Re: If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

The worse part about it is having to hear our own "fans" talk that crap about our HALL OF FAME quarterback, who is still in a Saints uniform. He has good years left without question, providiong they can start protecting him.
Give him Matt Ryan time from yesterday and let's see how the game turns out. No brainer for me.

As effective as Brady, but he's no Manning...

Well Mr Andrew Christopher Brees shoulda made sure the front office took care of his interests. Has no influence whatsoever?

How many times in the last 10 years has either Manning or Brady had a losing season?

Answer: None.

How many time has either missed the playoffs?

Answer: None

Brees ain't in the same discussion.

Superbowl wins over that same period

Manning - 1
Brady - 1
Brees - 1

Re: If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

Brees was at fault just as much as his offensive line. Brady or Manning would have simply thrown the ball away or taken the sack instead of forcing it into coverage.

The Dude 12-22-2014 06:52 PM

Re: If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

I'll also add that if he wants to stay healthy enough to continue to play in this league he better come off some of that money and buy himself a decent offensive line.

Re: If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

I think inside, Brees would take full responsibility for this year. He would be as disappointed as any.

So as long as the entire team takes the blame for this insipid year then we can move forward as a club and come out bigger and better next year. We must first accept our shortcomings and then work hard to overcome them. Whether that be personnel changes or training as hard as we ever have in the preseason.

boom! winner!
Drew is the best quarterback in football.
He's the best face of the franchise we've had since Archie.
He has 3 super bowls left in him.
But without an offensive line, he wont make 2 more seasons, and he
certainly wont get any more rings.
Its time he realizes he could probably scratch up a meager existence with 70 million dollars, so they can pay some linemen, if he wants to see another ring.

What you fail to emphasize is that Brady and Manning both have a defense that can pick up the slack...

There is nothing about our defense this year that would give Brees any confidence that throwing the ball away and punt wouldn't result in enemy points.

Hell yes you take chances when you know that your defense is as effective as a screen door on a submarine

If this O and D don't get fixed the Saints led by Brees or not will be lucky to hang another banner or think about the Lombardi, not happening. Our window with Brees is near. Question is whwn the time comes do we morgage the farm with Brees again or do we look another way.

Just watch how he looks vs Bengals pass rush. I never heard Gruden say: Mannig should play better.
He is saying constantly: O-line changes, o-line stinks, No time in the pocket, he is hit every time...

You're right, he is no Manning. He has more NFL records than Mr. Wonderful, the same number of SB rings and he's not an arrogant SOB.

Hmm Brady just said he could play through his 40s. If Brady's isn't near, why is Brees'?

It's up to the coach and GM to determine that Goodwin/Evans suck and take steps to find a solution. Not the QB.

Brees is a beast and has at least 2 more good years. With that being said if they fail to fix the o-line he may not make it through next season. We have the players, I question the coaches and the lack of motivation.

Didn't know Brees only needs 329yd to hit 5,000 yards in a season, again.

Could well do it against Tampa.

Yes and one can argue that their playbook was cut short because we don't have a kicker that can kick a field goal over 35 yards. I see the need to throw and take chances, but he took too many and non of them paid off. Its not the defenses fault totally.

Brees will fight for it to happen. And to get HIS touchdown.

QB, captain of offense, has no input? Strange sport.

Expensive dem kids.
BTW I couldn't give a damn how much he earns. However I am sure I could give a whole orphanage a good life on 1/20th of his money.

Jack Vegas 12-23-2014 11:41 AM

Re: If Manning or Brady heard this crap about them

Are you really blaming Brees because the o-line stunk? Come on, that's just childish. He's not the GM of the team, he's the QB.

Your other points are all nonsensical and stupid. Brees is not even the highest-paid QB in the league. I think he's like fourth. And his contract has nothing to do with Colston suddenly becoming Mr. Butterfingers or Evans having so many chronic injuries he can't play anymore, or the defense going from 4th to 31st in one season with practically the same exact players.

Grow a brain.

The only thing worse than this season is the way certain numbers of our fans throw hissy fits over it on message boards, as if we're some privileged special people who are immune to a bad season. We had a great run, now things aren't so great. Big deal, life sucks, get a helmet. If you can't handle it you're welcome to step off the wagon and root for some other team.

Yep, day goes on ... these guys are "pros". There's a lot to be said for Drew continuing to get his numbers despite everything blowing up around him and that's what he's hired to do. Yeah, he threw some late game, inopportune picks, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada ... the fact remains the guy is still one of the best QB's in the league and will continue to be if they get him some protection,. That little ball gets heavy after while taking a beating like Drew does some Sundays,.

If you had to blow your team up and start over with only one player, who'd it be? You don't have to be a rocket scientist to answer that one, eh?
