+1. THIS.

Errors of this magnitude cannot be ignored by the NFL.

Oh sure, there will be fines and such, but that is no consolation for fans of the game...

Total Job...

And watch, the Saints will have a comeback year and we'll be the one getting jobbed for Detroit, who's long overdue...

Didn't they say something about how it wasn't the head ref's regular crew but a combination of several different crews & they did this on purpose for the playoffs? I also think I heard them mention they do this to prevent perceived favoritism by any particular crew?

So you got the most important games of the season being officiated by 'mutt' crews and you don't expect to see the confusion that went on during DAL/DET? Way to go NFL! :D

They supposedly pick the best of the best for the playoff games...

Slo Mo. Hard lines, mate.

Let me say that Detroit's 2nd TD drive was a thing of beauty.

Yep, they looked like world-beaters in the first half ... almost had me fooled, ... had the ball with 2 1/2 minutes left & coulda' scored for the win or they coulda' stopped Dallas on one of their last three possessions ... not like they didn't have their chances, :(.

That's too nice... Jerruh paid off the refs.

That was crazy stuff, there Slo Mo. It looks like you love TWO teams
that are cursed.

On a cheerier note, I want to invite you back to the Gulf Coast for MudBugs VI. Me & the guys will be planning earlier, this time, now that my head's back
in the game, and there is nobody around who will tell me, "Oh thats stupid!" if I want to do something fun. (and my current roster of prospective Future Ones & Training Camp Bodies, all know this would get them waived.)

Sometimes flags are thrown on quasi mundane infractions. Other times, the penalty could be blatant right in from of the ref and nothing. This is the insanity of the NFL.

There is no real form or structure to the flags. Can't tell you how many times the past few years I was left with a furrowed brow trying to make sense out of it. When a player can run on the field without a helmet and not get flagged you really have to start considering something else is going on behind the curtain. The ability to penalize a team on any given play, or not, even when there is a blatant infraction certainly leaves the possibility wide open.

Yep ... I guess the most plausible explanation I heard is that the ref who threw the flag can pick it up if, after conferring with another official, he decides it's not the right call. Even if it's already been announced, walked off and the chains moved,.

I did not even notice Dez Bryant on the field, but shame of the officiating for not at least calling that one ... if that's the type of environment they want to foster on the field, they're gonna' have a hard time controlling any game, IMO..

Man I love Suh and Tate. Both guys who play really hard. They were the lone bright spots for the Lions vs Cowboys. They are the type of players the Saints need.
