The new league year opens at 4 p.m. ET March 10, when unrestricted free agents can sign with any team. Here’s a list of the Saints' unrestricted and restricted free agents:

Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Keepers:
Ingram - Should be relatively easy to keep if the Saints truly want to. 3 year deal worth about 12 million seems reasonable. He's the only player here who will demand a significant contract. Haralson - No brainer, he is solid and makes peanuts. I'd rather him be more of a backup/rotational player but you need guys like this. Humber - I like him to take on a bigger role, perhaps even starting next to Lofton. At the very least he's our best special teamer. Deaderick - Solid backup, again will cost next to nothing. Graham - Maybe some will disagree but he had a really good season. I see no reason not to retain him. We should still be grooming a young guy with a big leg to replace him in the near future. Walker - Needs more playing time. Keep him and play him more often. Cadet - I like what he did this year. He's good in the pass catching role. If PT gets cut you have to keep him. If we keep PT it's a much tougher call. |
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
There are a few I would like the Saints to work out a deal with. The main 2 are Haralson and Ingram. Robinson I would like to keep but I would love to get a CB in FA also. I would like to see Griffin take the #2 qb. spot and let McCown go. Cadet can go, he is easily replaced. Fokou I don't know anything about but I do like the name(say it slow) Hate to see Goodwin on his last leg but we need help in the middle of the O and he's done. Deaderick possibly see what he could bring in at training camp, if he gets beat out well he gets beat out, our D-line a NT that dominates. Meachum same as Deaderick. The others can go.

Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
wouldnt mind keeping Humber and Harolson. Other than that I dont see anyone on that list who isnt worth upgrading. Maybe Ingram but that depends on what kind of money he wants. One decent season out of 4 doesn't make me all that certain he is worth a big contract.
I forgot about Cadet. Would keep him too. |
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
We should resign this guy, Moise Fokou, LB.

Just signed Dustin Hopkins to a futures contract. This kid has a big leg. Was drafted by the Bills in 2013 and beat out Rian Lindell until he was hurt and put on IR.... So I think that we may just have our future kicker already on the team Good article on him from last year; Meet Dustin Hopkins, a possible solution to the Eagles' kicker concerns |
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
We lost games this year partly because the coaches don't trust him in a dome outside of 40. Add a Matt Bryant to the roster and we make the playoffs IMO. Team have to defend different when you can make 50 yarders

Bryce Harris is a must go. Haralson and Humber had better be 2nd string if they're kept. We need all new starting LBs who can stop the run better than they (and Hawthorne and Lofton) have been. The inexpensive ones to keep unless they're beat in camp: Robert Meachem, WR Luke McCown, QB Patrick Robinson, CB Parys Haralson, LB Ramon Humber, LB Brandon Deaderick, DL Jamarca Sanford, S Moise Fokou, LB |

Humber and Deaderick as camp competition. Wish everyone else well. The Saints need all the new blood and attitude they can find.

Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Tyrunn Walker is probably one of the most underrated Saints players. Unfortunately, coaches also don't trust him enough to give him more playing time. When he plays he looks like our best player out there.

Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
A Lot to think about.

Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Moise Fokou, LB I want to see what this past Titians starter can do and see if he has put his past issues behind him.
Everything is really on hold draft and FA wise till we see what happens with Ingram |
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Tyrunn Walker is who we need to retain on this list, and he's a RFA...
If Ingram stays it'll be to cover for the mistake in moving back into the first round and drafting him... You know sports management types, pay 'em more, polish 'em up and somehow they'll tranform from being turds - but they don't, and the moves still stink... Besides the tail end of last season and a few games this year - this just looks, sounds like a guy who performs when necessary for a contract... Where was Ingram before this mini-streak when our offensive line was healthier, better?!? Just too many question marks, injuries, not enough yards after initial, and usually concluding, contact... There will be several running backs who'll be better suited to the Saints offense of a time-share at running back... C J Spiller is fantastic in spurts, not a workhorse - paired with PT and Khiry, could be interesting, but will the market overpay?!? One guy I'd like to bring in and vet is Darren McFadden; character is my biggest concern for this guy, the physical part is still there and those were some pretty bad teams Oakland had... Jonathan Dwyer is another guy like McFadden that may just need a change of scenery who'd I'd also like to get a look... |
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Isn't Dwyer on suspension
|
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Not a single player listed is a must keep.
Every player listed is just a guy. |
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
McFadden is an interesting free agent to me. If we could get McFadden for a reasonable price, he's worth the gamble. The Raiders are awful. Patrick Robinson is athletic and had a coupe good games. If we had a good pass rush, he could be a good corner. Too bad we cant afford Suh. I think he single-handedly makes the Saints D great.

Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
I have seen enough of PRob.
|
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Will Spiller want to play for us though?

Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Runningbacks have become more like wide receivers in today's game, you rotate 'em, maneuver formations for matchups...
Linebackers (mostly on other kid's teams) are now 6-2 to 6-4 and can run like deer and have excellent short burst, so a running back mano y mano is less likely successful... Workhorse runningbacks in today's game are becoming extinct and cost prohibitive with their propensity to injury... We've been successful with humble runningbacks who were willing to work and trust the coaches to put them in a position of success... Example, Pierre Thomas has become the game's best screen back; great work ethic and solid character, he is the prototype for today's running back... |
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Honestly, there are only a few I think we need.
Ingram Walker Haralson The rest could be let go/replaced with upgrades. For those of you that want to keep Cadet... your crazy. The guy is a fumbling machine and has done nothing of note. He was already replaced on the KR team and we saw better results. He might be the worst 3rd down back we have as well. Yes, he can catch but that's about it. There are 100's of UDFA that display his talent. Cadet is a wasted roster spot. |
Re: Saints 2015 Free Agents
Well, they've finally got it going...
And it'll be a new wrinkle in Free Agency... NFL will hold veteran free agent combine in March - NFL.com |
