Looking at the figures on over the cap,the roster bonus is nearly all guaranteed.

Sure. But if he's not on the roster.....

Basically we need to find out what happened. If it's bad, cut him before the roster bonus goes into effect (I believe that's usually something like June 1st) and you're off the hook. If it's not too bad, then proceed as normal.

Yes. And 12.5 million of that is roster bonus. If he's not on the roster, he doesn't get the 12.5 million, and it doesn't count against our cap. We'd lose 750,000 in cap space this year (and some in future years, but I haven't look at that yet). But that's the only way it affects the team. Unless you are worried about Benson's money. (I'm not)
