But think of what our 50 million dollar safety could do with a decent front 7

If we could get to where Byrd has nothing to worry about but coverage

Thats what I'm saying. Now that we have him lets use him by making that front seven something to be reckoned with! I would not be mad if we drafted an ILB, DT, or OLB/DE straight in our first 3 picks.

I would not object to it but the window is almost closed with Brees. The best option, to win now, make the OL stout. That upgrade allows us to score and keep the DL off the field.

I'm also fine going D in the first three as well, as long as we pick a side and roll with it. Jim Finks use to always say, build your lines first and that is still true today. Our lines are weak on both sides and it's impossible to make both stellar. Our enemies are also upgrading but more of the best player available scenario. I would like to toss that scenario out and build a solid front, either side just flip a coin.

Not just that but having a great O-Line in place when Brees moves on will make the transition to the new QB a little easier. I really don't want to have to start rebuilding the line while the new QB is running for his life. Now's the time to start.
