Saints OT Terron Armstead to avoid neck surgery
As the season came to a close, Terron Armstead was unsure if he would require surgery to repair his injured neck. It turns out he has nothing to worry about.
The Saints left tackle is expected to be able to avoid the operating table and recover through rest and rehabilitation, according to a league source. Armstead battled the injury throughout the season and missed the final two games of the season against the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was also limited to 13 snaps the week prior against Chicago. Prior to suffering the injury, Armstead was one of the more durable players on the roster, starting every game before being sidelined against the Falcons. With Armstead out, Bryce Harris started in his place. Armstead told ESPN in December he was optimistic about his health. If Armstead makes a full recovery, it will be good news for New Orleans. The team enters the offseason needing to make upgrades across the line, particularly at center and possibly guard. A more reliable swing tackle is also likely an area of need. ProSportsDaily |

Someone get his stem cells. This may be the first Saint in recent history to no require surgery.
