Something like Kaepernick deal. Not that money lol, but been able to get out of contract after every season. (beware of player perfomances in their contract year)

Re: What would you be willing to pay Ingram?

4 mil per year, 4 years is the maximum I'd say

We have a habit of finding tough runners late in the draft or as UDFA's, PT23, Chris Ivory, Khiry Robinson

If Ingram wants more money it will likely be from another team

Re: What would you be willing to pay Ingram?

4yr/13.5 mil. Only because of 1 proven yr.I don't know if a team will offer more or not.

No offer? Just let him go, huh?

The guy averages over 4ypc and you don't even make an attempt?

Well who else are you bringing in and what are you paying him?

Missed 3 games and he was still only 37 yards from 1000 rushing, we don't break the bank but we'd be foolish not to offer the guy what he's worth just as he's coming into his prime.

Yep. Market value. Large signing bonus. Merry Christmas, we upgraded your O line.

Some one who can consistently get on the field. Someone who performs well in something besides a contract year. :brood:

He averaged 4.9 ypc in 2013 and 4.3 ypc last year, he proved he can be effective when given the carries

RB's take a beating. When have we ever had a productive RB play a full season?

Re: What would you be willing to pay Ingram?

Comps on that list are Stewart and Matthews...
I'd say we won't keep him for less than $4.5

I think Papz hit it on the head with 16 million for 4 years with 10 million guaranteed...

Re: What would you be willing to pay Ingram?

Well keeping in mind that we need more help in other areas(LB, DT, OL, CB) & factoring in the tremendous depth at RB in this years draft, i gotta say 4yrs/$14M with a highside of 4/16. Very comaparable to Ben Tate's situation last year which landed him in that range. Health is the biggest factor.

I just cant see the Saints overpaying him though.

Draft Options:

1. Todd Gurley - Georgia
2. Melvin Gordon - Wisconsin
3. Tevin Coleman - Indiana
4. Jay Ajayi - Boise St.
5. David Cobb - Minnesota
6. Ameer Abdullah - Nebraska
7. TJ Yeldon - Alabama
8. Duke Johnson - Miami
9. David Johnson - Northern Iowa
10. Cameron Artis-Payne - Auburn
11. Javorius "Buck" Allen - USC
12. Jeremy Langford - Michigan St.
13. Mike Davis - South Carolina
14. Dominique Brown - Louisville
15. Terrance Magee - LSU

& So many others like Karlos williams & Matt Jones, etc.

I'd really love to get David Johnson from Northern Iowa. Looked great in the Senior Bowl & resembles Leveon bell in appearance(6'1 225) & play style. Can do it all...

Dont have to draft him high either, looks to be available somewhere in the 5th round with a highside of round 4.

good draft class plus a ton of FA's (young, old, big/small) means we should get him at our price, or someone else at our price.
As long as we have Brees, we are not going to pay marquee prices for a RB

lee909 02-02-2015 01:11 AM

Re: What would you be willing to pay Ingram?

The ball is firmly in teams court with RBs this year.
Murray
Bere en
Matthews
Gore
Spiller
Ingram
Moreno
Helu
Bradshaw
Ridley
Polk
Rice
McFadden
Asiata
Forsett

Thats before the draft
Then add
Gurley
Gordon
Johnson
Coleman
Yeldon
Abdullah
Davis
Ajayi
Langford
Robinson
Johnson

Now you have teams cutting players
Peterson
Lynch (especially after last night)

Id like to see him stay but anything over 3.5ml is pushing it. 4ml on Ingram means 4ml that could go toward Wisniewski,Hudson,Worilds,Maxwell,Thurmond etc

Re: What would you be willing to pay Ingram?

Vereen was my under the radar signing but after his perfomance in SB victory I think that price is just too much for us at this point. Dude was spectacular as receiver. Had one great one handed grab.
