The bylaws of the Pro Football Hall of Fame forbid the 46 voters from considering players’ off-field lives.
Those are the rules. I know the military will strip a Soldier if convicted of a felon from wearing the badge they earned for guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Only decoration that can be revoked. Same concept, what they did on the football field / battlefield was earned. Like it or not, they earned it. |
