Vic Beasley combine

Uh....

Just looked at some numbers and this kid is at the top of every category.

I'm not necessarily sold on the combine but this guy is winning the linebacker portion.

Yea man,I gotta say I'm very impressed by his combine performance and his weight. 246 is a lot better than 235. And not even just his weight, but his bench was insane! I even compared his numbers to the 2014 LB draft class and he beat them out in just about every category...even against Khalil Mack. His only knock still seems to be against the run,but with his numbers he shouldn't have that issue. Maybe that can be corrected.

Re: Vic Beasley combine

Problem being that with these type of numbers he might not be available at 13... We are just on the edge for a lot of the top positional talent. I think we are going to play the "who is going to fall to us" game.

At least we won the useless game against Tampa and dropped a couple of picks.

Re: Vic Beasley combine

I liked Mayocks comment on him. He said something like "I wanna know what weight he played at during the season, was it 246 or did he lose weight during the season." Basically he was wondering whether 246 is artificial weight or his actual playing weight.

I'm all in. Unfortunately he probably won't make it to our pick now.

The one thing I wanted to see about the kid was his strength 35 reps, wow!!!

I'm with you on that! He beat out some of the DT's!

Kwon Alexander from LSU ran a 4.53 and benched 25. 2 year starter at LSU. He can come in right away and help and he can be had in the late 2nd or 3rd. I would love to see him in the 3rd and Vic in rd 1.

We lost about 4 spots in this draft for a freaking pride win ugh how stupid.

Re: Vic Beasley combine

Lol, as much as I'd love to be picking 8th. You don't play to lose the game!!! These players have to much pride to just lay down.

Re: Vic Beasley combine

Don't sweat Beasly rising the boards. That just means talent will also fall to 13

Re: Vic Beasley combine

Not sure if I just came away that impressed with Beasley or I was that disappointed in many of the DL and OLB measurables and performances at the combine...

Either way, Beasley is definitely in play for us at No. 13 and a strong candidate to select...

Will have to look at more game film, but he may be the guy to take at pick 13 and I'd say it's 2:3 chance he's there...

When you mock up and prioritize the players, the wild cards are NY Jets, Chicago, Atlanta, with the other being someone moving up...

Both of the QBs should be gone in the first eight (wouldn't discount Chicago as taking a QB as they've tired of the Jay Cutler Experience from what I've read)...

Draft Management will really be in play at No. 13...

Re: Vic Beasley combine

If Beasley rises somebody falls.
Should be some good options on the board and some interesting trade bait on the last few top tier options for teams lower down to trade with.

Marriota
Winiston

Both should easily be gone so only 10 off the folloeing will be off the board

Williams
Cooper
Gregory
Shelton
Fowler
Clemmings
Beasley
Rey
Armstead
White
Brown
Scherff
L.Collins
Flowers
Peat

Hopefully the Clowns and the Browns lose a 1st round pick that would put one pass rusher back on the board.

BPA should yield a solid result.

With how slowly the league is reacting to all of these situations I don't think much will happen by draft time... Still have the new england issue to resolve.

I was wondering about this post then I went to SR and saw where we are not gonna get Vic or Ray and realize why.

I'm glad we won though. 3rd place in the NFC South is a curse.

Re: Vic Beasley combine

I have no problems drafting any lb. that is a lunch pale type of player. We need anyone that plays consistantly good. We need players that fit whatever the type of scheme we're going to play also. I don't want any type of boom or bust type for our D, no more of that crap is needed. And if any of the players at any position don't do their job either needs to hit the road or ride the pine. Any coach that don't get their players to perform need to go. And if Payton can't get it done he can get the ax also. 7-9 has left a bad taste in my mouth. Fix it or get somebody who can!!

Can we really expect a second round LB to play at a NFL level the first season? I just don't know.

Agreed ... Jaime Collins of the Patriots is the only one that stands out in my mind.

I don't think he will fall past ATL...with Quinn in and that they need more front 7 help then we do...he also fits the mold that Quinn likes...
