It's Saturday, time to make some moves people

We got until Tuesday to get under the cap. I wonder when the real moves are gonna happen. Its time to get busy. Let's get this party started right!

I think we still have $10-15 million to go to get under the cap... But we need more space than that to make some signings. There will be another restructure or two but some guys are gonna have to get cut. Time to be nervous if you're David Hawthorne, Ben Grubbs, Corey White, etc.

The last one will be done at the last minute.
The team will wait and hope to trade Lofton and Galette.

From elsewhere
Galette's cap number is currently $15.45 million. After the bonus conversion, it would be $5.45 million.

So as long as they are within 10ml of the cap they can convert that roster bonus to a signing bonus at the last knockings.

From NOLA
The release of running back Pierre Thomas and signing bonus conversion of safety Jairus Byrd put the Saints at about $15.9 million over the cap, according to NOLA.com

So another $5.9ml freed up and Juniors bonus conversions and we hit the cap number though more space is needed for rookies etc but Lofton, Hawthorne,Grubbs,Evans,Bush.

Just cutting Grubbs and converting Junior takes the team to the cap number and then any other moves open space for FA and draft.

If anyone wants to see the costs of cutting players inc dead money etc, june 1st cuts over now

Dont be surprised to see a Jimmy Graham roster bonus conversion over the summer. He is due a 5ml roster bonus this year

I don't know how accurate it is, but I heard the saints are 10.1 mil. Over the cap. So if you are right about Galettes bunus conversion that should put us very close.

As i have posted on another thread(below) long term we are nowhere near as paid as the doomsayers in the media suggests

For all the media wailing over long term cap hell this team is in a good position cap wise next year. If the big under performing earner are cut we would have holes to fill but would have over $35ml in cap space.

If Colston,Grubbs,Hawthorne,Lofton and Bunkley got cut next summer(if they dont this) then we have $37ml in free cap room and thats with Brees cap hit of $27ml and Evans $10.2.
But Its should be said that Hick,Jordan,Lelito and K.Robinson are all out of contract too.
