The Case For Trading Drew Brees

Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
Seriously, the writer needs to go **** in one hand and wish in the other and let us know how that turns out for him

Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
The experts don't like rooting for players who don't have long unless they are Brady or Manning who have bigger resumes. They are anxious to get to "the next big thing" and use Brees' age and decline to do so. How many times do we have to hear the experts diss Bree while still act like Matt Ryan will be elite someday and he will go to the next level. We hear it every year. Plan and simple, people want us to fail because Brees is no longer young and at the beginning of a HOF career.
Also, people believe their own lies saying Brees has had elite receivers. I mean they believe Colston and Moore would have been number 1s for other teams. Thats just not the case. But they believe that. |
Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
That's crazy. You don't tank a season in the NFL anyway, unless you have a rookie QB and gotta start him. The Saints are, like many other teams in the NFL, a couple players away from being Super Bowl champs. Brees played in the Pro Bowl last season so I think he's still pretty good. We shouldn't allow any more of these threads because Brees aint going anywhere.

Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
As good as our receivers played, they could not go to another team and be a number one or even be mildly successful. They were successful in 2011 especially because Brees had great protection and he threw them open.
Just look what happened when the Chargers massively overpaid for Robert Meachem, he lasted like one season there! |
Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
Completely agree
Brees had allday behind that line and then had Sproles ad PT as a safety valves too. That team should have one everything. |
Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
i understand the business veiw point here
but i look at the draft and i do not see a QB worth the risk. Winston is way over rated by the analysis IMO. dude threw way to many Ints last year that left you wondering what the .... Maroito is a bit of a project Next year is a different story. Conner Cooks is on the board. So unless the saints pull a magic rabbit out of their hat in FA it would be a season of Tanking to do it this year. he is not getting any younger and if your looking for a trade in value the time is running out to get an above the market return on the investment. Drew retires and walks of the field in the super dome after playing his last game would be a thing of beauty also. |
Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
Glad this reporter isn't running the team. What a fool! Unfortunately, we just had too many injuries in the secondary last season.

Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
As Tampa. We obviously don't tank seasons...

Say what?

Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
Brees definitly made starters out of several receivers who wouldnt be starting on any other team.
I would rather trade Graham. In fact I hope we do trade Graham. Everyone talks about Brees restructuring, at least Brees plays every game. Graham is only good for about half a season. |
Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
I thought the article was thought provoking, even if I respectfully disagree; I'm just not that into book burning...
But I'd like to see the correspondent answer a few questions like, Who's your favourite team?!? and, Would you want to experiment with your team in this manner?!? It is irritating that the talking network heads and their bottom feeders always want to experiment with us... Brees hasn't single-handedly made players around him better as much as Brees under Coach Payton with company are greater than the sum of their parts... If Brees left, he'd be just another average quarterback; in fact, with his age, he'd be out in less than a year... Despite a huge contract commitment that isn't team friendly, he's our guy and still extremely effective so long as he's got protection up front and no pressure in his face... |
Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
Not the year for that kind of talk. Repeat last season, and it becomes a reality.
|
Re: The Case For Trading Drew Brees
And one year ago all you heard was "We're going to lose Graham" it isn't "What have you done for me lately?" Nooooo of course not!! LOL
