As expected. And we haven't even restructured Hawthorne, Grubbs, Evans, Brees, or Graham yet.

Re: Junior restructures putting Saints under the cap

Ive heard they still might try and trade him, that would be dumb if they do when we dont have no one that produce that many sacks back to back. Now cut Grubbs, Evans, and Hawthorne and we'll be flying high. Get young.

With Lofton gone, we are now about $6 million under, and that does not include Colston's cut, which still hasn't been released

Total Cap Number: $164,335,345 (Top 51: $158,734,845)

I mentioned this in another thread, but it sucks that we just put a $12.5 million check in his hands. I know it had to be done. That'll teach him to not be so douchey and immature.

Tom Benson wrote that check last year.

Its all a part of the cost of doing busness in today's NFL.

I know, it's just that it's great on the one hand clearing so much cap space, but giving Junior that much money... Ugh.

Oh I agree Chris 100%, but thats hindsight.

We were all for it last year, before we found out he has the social media habits of a 15 year old high school girl with self esteem issues.

I think most of us have come to trust him, this is normal behaviour every year and he always gets it done

NFL network on the other hand have been non-stop with "saints are in cap hell" stories.

You mean the same guys that hired Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin, Emmit Smith, Joe Theisman, Warren Sapp.

I'm shocked Dizz! :p

Looks like the team is totally revamping the linebacker position; about damn time! :bng:

Re: Junior restructures putting Saints under the cap

We all nee Galette wasn't being traded this year. No team was taking that rusk with his salary and possible suspension. I dont think he will be suspended as the NFLPA will flip out if the league suspends a man again whi the courts have said has no case to answer.

My guess is the front office has spoken to him and told him he needs to start acting like a team leader not talking about other teams on social media and putting himself in bad situations off field. I think people should get off his back a little and see if he steps up to the plate and performs.

Re: Junior restructures putting Saints under the cap

Just had a look a juniors deal. If he doesn't cut it this year then he can be designated a post june 1st cut next year for 5ml in cap savings and 3.8ml dead money. Pressure is on him this year. I reckon he has had the kick he needed and he responds

I don't get why people trip out over the salary cap. Since when has a salary cap prevented a team from playing football? The answer is never. Its an accounting game. The measure should be more about dead money or money spent on players who either aren't here or settling for mediocre talent due to these reasons. That is something I would be interested in seeing.
