Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
Ben Watson is a good blocking tight end and Josh Hill has a good rapport with Drew. Brees and Hill own some sort of record(not sure what but I read it the other day).
Are they the number one and number two tight ends going into next season? If not, who will replace Jimmy? |
Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
I think they will but will draft one in the 4th 5th or 6th

Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
Jermaine Gresham or Chris Clay would be good pick ups.

Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
I think we might need a little more help. The TE's on the free agent market are pretty underwhelming so a mid to late round pick on one should suffice.

Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
Am I the only one who thinks Hill can handle being the man?

Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
if the saints do focus on the run - have success - drew has a pocket to step up in - we can win average wr and te. spread it around. you can not cover everyone all the time.
our WR have always been way over rated. Amari Cooper or DeVante Parker would be a huge upgrade. |

Loomis just said they like who we have but will be looking at other options. GM talk but there will be more TE's coming in.

Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
I wonder if Orson Charles can show the talent he has.
Not going to get a better chance than this camp |
Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
I say let Josh Hill become the man and let Drew go back to passing to seven different receivers during the game!
We were a lot less unpredictable offense when Graham wasn't in the game... |
Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
Also, it will be great to see a 100% fit Brandin Cooks back on the field again next season. He has great potential and should light up the scoreboard as long as he can stay healthy!
GEAUX SAINTS!!!! |
Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
I would not be surprised to see the Saints go the JG-route again either drafting or getting a FA with a lot of athletic ability but little football experience.

I could easily see Hill have 65 catches, 863yds and 8TDs and Watson about half of that.

Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
We were wayyyyyyyyyy to predictable last season.
I could look at the personnel and know what we were about to do. I didn't even study film for a week prior to Sunday. Maybe a bunch of new faces will help. If Ingram can keep it up, that wouldn't hurt either. Hill, Watson or some new hybrid that wows everybody, if we can get 5-10 catches out of the TE group each week, I would be happy. Drew is going to throw the ball forty times, unless the balance talk (Ingram) becomes a reality. Blocking, sealing the edge and converting a few 3rd and 7's will be the challenge. Hill and Watson have shown good hands when targeted. The additional snaps plus an up and coming youngster will only enhance their performances. |
Re: Josh Hill And Benjamin Watson
Watson is a legit NFL TE. The rookie class of TE coming in is said to be very weak with possibly none taken on day 1. Many experts top TE Maxx Williams, who is 6'4 250 and a good blocker disappointed with a 4.78 40. but he is a good route runner and has soft hands. I doubt Jason Witten is any faster than that. If this Williams guy is really a great blocker, which I believe he is, as Minnessota ran the ball most of the time, he would be a oood pickup because he definitely seems to have great hands.
