Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
ESPN draft analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay broke down the New Orleans Saints’ draft prospects as part of their First Draft podcast series. They both concluded that the Saints have a number of needs to fill -- but also an impressive amount of ammunition to work with after their recent trades. First Draft - Saints Preview - ESPN |
Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
Brees is right. Enough about "talent", we need "grinders" who show leadership and get it done!
Add youth to the O line, ILB, OLB, WR and secondary. All of a sudden our team is looking very competitive! |

yep, I liked that actually

Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
I tell you why I respect Kiper...
He has done more to influence and grow an absolute untapped sub-market of professional football... And yeah, I've heard the "who's Mel Kiper?" quotes, but don't think they don't know who he is nor listen to what he has to say... But I rather listen to Kiper with say Ron Jaworski and Craig Tirico on ESPN talking draft than Chris Berman and the rest of the keystone cops... |
Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
Kiper knows his stuff and I respect him a lot. We need the players who want to bang it all of the time. Talent is comes with the player and is natural. It's sometimes hard to make someone hard if their not.

Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
I haven't watched BSPN draft coverage in a long time, Mayock gets annoying at times but IMO he blows Kiper and McShay out the water

Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
I watch our first round pick almost every year. Especially when we pick in the teens or higher. I love the anticipation. Watching teams make poor choices leading up to our pick and then....

Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
I sure hope we draft a little smarter this year.

Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
Good stuff. Last year I thought we should draft all LSU players and this year I think it even more. La'el Collins at 13, Jalen Colins at 31, Danielle Hunter and Kwon Alexander with the next 2 picks. They both ran 4,5 40s at the combine. Finish up by getting Kenny Hilliard with the last pick. Hilliard is the leading rusher in Louisiana High School football history and a great short yardage back at the very least. This scenario is possible and solves our needs beautifully.

Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
We should draft the best players not players just because they are from LSU.

Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
The only thing I disagree with is the need at TE. Reaching for Maxx Williams at 31 would be terrible. I don't see the Saints replacing Graham with a TE. You replace Graham with a big, athletic, physical receiver.

Re: Saints roundup: Kiper, McShay talk draft
If Clive Walford is there in the third or in a position to trade up for without giving up much id rather take him.
The report i read in Williams was he turned off alot of people at interviews in the draft. Everything was about him. Sources Tell Us "That Minnesota tight end came across as all about himself from what people in our room said (at the combine). They were a little turned off by him." -- NFC regional scout |
