PRob to Chargers...
The Chargers continue to look for depth on defense.
According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Chargers have agreed to a one-year deal worth $2 million plus incentives with former Saints cornerback Patrick Robinson. Robinson, a former first-round pick, had an up-and-down run with the Saints, but has flashed potential that would indicate his draft status. He’ll be able to slot in behind Brandon Flowers and Jason Verrett in San Diego, probably playing outside on third downs when Flowers slides inside. Robinson was scheduled to visit the Steelers, but the Chargers apparently kept that from happening. Chargers reach a deal with former Saints corner Patrick Robinson | ProFootballTalk |

Good luck to him

Re: PRob to Chargers...
He's their P-roblem now..
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
Good guy... Lacks the confidence and swagger to be consistently good but he doesn't complain and he works hard. Keep him in the slot with those other two outside and they could have a nice secondary. Best of luck to him!

Re: PRob to Chargers...
Zzzzzz....wait...what? Oh PRob is gone? That's terrible.... No Corey White or PRob on our defense anymore? Zzzzzzz.....
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
They can have him, Manning is going to abuse that bust
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
It feels so good to know that PRob and Corey White are gone
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
I was hoping he'd work out with us. He's a good guy, just couldn't put it all together here.
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
I'll miss him.........NOT!
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
Watch him go out there on the west coast and ball out this year; end up making the pro-bowl or something...
Good luck to him |

Re: PRob to Chargers...
Robinson will fit their system. He might play better than expected.
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
He's projected to be SD nickel back so he might do well, we all know he couldn't play outside to save his life
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
I wish him well. Hopefully he gets it figured out. He has the tools. As Dee Patrick Alternburger used to tell me, "you need to get your wig on right". That's what Robinson needs - to get his wig on right. I hope he does just that.

Re: PRob to Chargers...
The Chargers heard the rumor that we were looking to trade Brees. They just couldn't believe a team would really let a player like Drew go! Lol! The deal fell through and they ended up with PRob!

Re: PRob to Chargers...
PRoblem solved!
|
Re: PRob to Chargers...
I hope he does well with the Chargers, and I'm glad he went to the AFC if that actually happens.
I don't see him as a bust being a low 1st rounder who the Saints reached for. |
Re: PRob to Chargers...
Just another blunder by Loomis and Co. at drafting a CB... It's becoming a tradition: P Rob, SJB, Corey White, Johnny Patrick, Usama Young, Malcolm Jenkins, etc. At least Tracy Porter gave us some good memories when he wasn't injured.

But you're right to wish him well in recovering his football career... I was interested to see him under Dennis Allen's tutelage... |

I guess you could call picking him - especially where he was picked in the draft - a bust by the FO, but I wouldn't call him a bust as a player. It's all a matter of an opinion, but I think the b-word is used far too often in the media to excite potential readers to click on articles. I try to reserve that designation to players like Jamarcus Russell, who really never live up to the lofty expectations people and organizations have for them. I don't think the players themselves should be at fault if a team's scouting department and FO misevaluate their value and potential, but when the players themselves squander their opportunities with either bad ethics when it comes to practicing and improving on their craft or by getting in trouble with the law - then I see them as busts regardless of when they were picked in the draft. To me it at least seems like Robinson didn't have an attitude problem, but just a hard time staying healthy and finding his place on the roster/scheme, so again that's the main reason I don't see him as a bust as a player. |

Re: PRob to Chargers...
Maybe a change of scenery will do him good. Great attitude, hard worker.
Good luck man. You had a string of bad luck here in New Orleans but I hope it all works out for you. |
Re: PRob to Chargers...
All i can say is, good luck to him

Re: PRob to Chargers...
PRob-able

Re: PRob to Chargers...
$2 million? when does the statute of limitations run out on the rep of a first rounder?
Geezuz that's a blunder |
