Will Jeff Ireland Help Change Paytons Draft Strategy?
 

When I think of someone having an impact on a football team I think of a dominant player or a coach. Jeff Ireland is our new defensive scout/asst. GM and could have a huge impact on the draft with his defensive knowledge.

Just what kind of impact do you expect from him? :bng:

I really don't know what to expect from him. All I'm hoping for is a successful draft.

And I hope that show Payton and Loomis put on for Dorsett at the U was for show...

We've got enough speed for this offense...

Must get defense and must get O-line depth...

Anything else, we'll be a fireworks show stuck in mediocrity...

Saints just got better in the draft area with the hire of Ireland a few months ago. We are getting a guy who is going back to doing what he excelled in.

Chris Clay
Vonte Davis .. anyone ever heard of these guys? All were Jeff Ireland influenced draft selections. No doubt he will change the thought process of who we select and where (round).

Don't expect to see any "project" picks in this upcoming draft now that Mr. Ireland is on board with the Saints nation ;). Yes, I'm expecting a serious impact from JI.

he maybe just what the saints need to stop taking all those cute diamond in the rough picks to make head lines down the road. last few years the saints have out thought themselves and tried to be too cute. just to be the dog at the ball in the last half of the draft. kills your depth big time.

Nothing wrong with taking risks in the draft but take them rounds 5-7 and go all out for them.

Since the Saints have no plan, maybe they will let Ireland throw one of the darts. Just for show of course.
