Former Saints linebacker Victor Butler suspended for violating substance policy
 

Former New Orleans Saints linebacker Victor Butler has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's performance enhancing substance policy, the NFL network reported,

Butler signed on with the Saints in 2013 after following Rob Ryan over from the Cowboys, where he played from 2009-'12.

Butler tore his ACL during 2013 training camp following a collision with Mark Ingram and never played a game for the Saints. Although he attempted a comeback in 2014, he was initially played on the physically unable to perform list and then waived with an injury settlement in August.

Butler signed with the Cardinals and then Colts in 2014 before signing a futures contract with the Giants in 2015 but was never able to stick on a roster.

I don't blame him.

After back to back season ending injuries in training camp, I'd try just about anything to get back to making a living.

He was supposed to be the corner stone of our defense... There was so much hope and excitement. Everything changed though with one accidental knock to the knee and I feel bad for the guy. Maybe he'll get another shot one day but it's gonna be an uphill battle.
