Sounds like we'll get some love for a little while on ESPN's morning show! :)

Good. I like having an actual back up center. Not just a guard that will be moved there if needed.

I'd rather a guard who can fill in at center and does very well(Lelito); a backup center is a spot that can be better utilized; say another linebacker...

It's all about depth. What if Unger goes down and Lelito is starting at Guard? Lelito can not be our only option.

Well not having a backup center on the active roster has worked for us for the past couple of years... What ifs

He was cut rather swiftly the first time around with us. Think he has improved his game enough to at least get through the 1st round of cuts this time.

And it showed last year when we had a 900 yr old center play like crap. The o-line sucked last year due to injuries. Why limit your options? Is it really going to hurt to bring him in? I would not say last years o-line "worked for us last year".:dunce:

Because we have an all-pro in his prime center on the roster now and why steal depth from another position that will see the field for a "what if"(talking active roster)

I'd much rather have an extra DB/LB who will at least see the field on special teams rather than a second center when Lelito or another backup guard can handle the "what if"

Don't worry about it, he won't be around when the season starts.

Every year... Every freaking year we bring in guys who are really just camp bodies and there are people who complain about it. Unger could tear his ACL in OTA's for all we know... It's wise to have an idea of what the back-up plan might be.

Camp depth, and if he makes the team he'll likely never see the field.

A Center in his prime that missed 11 games last year.

SP seems to be super paranoid with Centers, can't imagine why.

I kinda think it's a "thing" with Payton, he likes to target guys with NFL pedigrees or second generation players. Toon, Byrd, Ingram, and maybe a few others I can't remember. Seems like it's part of his MO. I guess he feels like they come with the NFL work ethic, culture and locker room smarts already built-in. Besides the obvious genetics of athleticism and skill that would be a factor, I'm sure having a father from the NFL who has been there before, in almost any and every locker room situation, to give the son advice or experience about the JOB of football, is a very valuable attribute to have.

If you're trying to build a team that doesn't have head cases or spoiled immature prima donnas, that's a pretty good thing to add to the mix.

Its a great idea in theory only problem is this Golic has little to no talent

snap queen at camp, gives him a paycheck for a few weeks may have a shoot to hop on roster if not here somewhere else. he's a good kid I have no problem with him at camp or on the sidelines, his pop passed the genes down he just needs reps.

Poppa Golic didn't exactly set the NFL on fire when he played

Oliver Luck didn't set the league on fire either.

MGJr wasn't an unanimous #1 pick in the draft so what's your point

Point? No Point. How does what the son did / will do have any bearing on the career of the father?

None, I thought Archie was the best Manning because he had to put up with an incompetent front office and crappy players. His sons never had to deal with either
