POSITION RANKINGS
I am more interested in the Position rankings then most mock drafts.
We are in position to draft a top rated player at his position at 13. I find it hard to believe we aren't going to take advantage of that. Mike Mayock's 2015 NFL Draft position rankings 4.0 - NFL.com |
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
We could get a #1 player at 13, then perhaps the #1 MLB at 31, and the #1 TE at 44.
|
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
Said it all along.
The value of staying at #13 is drafting a top 3 in any position. The value of trading up is drafting a difference maker. It' all about how the top 7 or 8 shake out IMO. |
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
well 2 players will fall to 13 because two teams will be stupid enough to draft Winston and Mariota, so the Saints chances of landing a great/good player are even better than we think
|
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
my fear is no one will reach in the top 12 and all the upside players fall into our laps at 13. then i am praying teams are calling to get ahead of Miami who has RB and WR high on there list.
Right now the best bets are people pegging Brandon Scherff and La'el Collins as better OG than ROT. ROT hardly get drafted this high. Danny Shelton maybe. If i start hearing names like Randy Gregory, Alvin Dupree and Shane Ray called before we pick i will be happy. then the odds are looking good. we should start cleaning off our laps and prepping the landing pads to receive a drop. Though Dupree maybe a solid boobie prize. right now my gut says DeVante Parker will be the BPA on the board at 13. |
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
#13 is tough. Like I said, it's all about what goes down by pick 7 or 8.
|
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
if you look at the last 20 years, having the 13th pick normally lands you at least a great/good player
|
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
Yeah I agree its going to get really interesting at 7 and 8. I wouldn't even be surprised if the Saints just up there at the last minute.
|
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
The best TE in this draft will get picked either in the 4/5 round or the kid out of Albany in the 6/7 round if he doesn't go the UDFA route...
|
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
If we don't scratch Payton's itch to move up there should be very good players available at a position of need at 13 and 31.

thought his model GF scratched his itches now?

Re: POSITION RANKINGS
Is everyone so happy about that tampa win in the last game of the season now? lol
Could have had #7, not to mention better picks in every round. First 3 picks #7 #31 #39 Now we are just hoping some teams drop the ball ahead of us so a top player falls. It's more likely that we package the 31 and 13 to get into the top 5, but we wouldn't have had to do these things if we played our bench in week 17. It also would have been nice to see SJB and Powell get some playing time, what a ****ing dumb move that was. |
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
no matter how meaningless, I'm happy the Saints won instead of folding like TB did so they could get the #1 pick.
Some stupid team is going to draft a QB or someone else higher than they should and some talent will fall to 13 if the Saints don't trade up first |
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
"Hoping" teams draft poorly??
I don't think that after consecutive decades of proof we can still call it "hoping"... more like "guaranteed"... |

Re: POSITION RANKINGS
I think you take the best player available regardless of position needs. Drafting for need gets you Stanley Jean Baptiste when Jarvis Landry(84 rookie catches from Tanneyhill!) was available.

Chicago and Atlanta are also building 3-4 defenses so their not going to want to give up the same players that we're probably targeting for our 3-4 defense... Raiders run a 4-3 and the Jets run a hybrid, but have more success with the 4-3 front as well... |

And what do you think Goodell would have done to us if it was completely obvious that we tried to tank the game. To be honest, I think a team should move to the back of the line if it was blatantly obvious that they had tanked. If we had tried to tank... welcome to the 32nd pick of every round, and I would applaud it. |

Lovie Smith probably was saying 'hey, we could win this ****!'... We'd done better for winning in the long-term to have sat our guys, but ole' Rodge would've stepped in... |

Re: POSITION RANKINGS
I could only see Gordon go before 13, Gurley if he wasn't rehabbing his ACL would of been a top 10 pick this draft
|
Re: POSITION RANKINGS
Gurley is again in top 10 consideration. Had his medical in Indy and knee looks OK.

Re: POSITION RANKINGS
Stop whining ya'll. We won the Tampa game and that gives Payton a better record. He wasn't going to call off the dogs(even if we looked more like poodles than Pitt Bulls). He knew the consequences of both losing and winning that game.
Edit: I wanted to pull the starters and evaluate what we had on the bench, but no..........:argue: |
