When I started seeing Hill in the offense, it was "Jimmy this, Jimmy that..." and I'd ask myself why they don't involve this young man more in the game. He wasn't as athletic as Jimmy, a bit smaller than Jimmy, but he ran good routes, seemed to be open all the time, had sure hands, wasn't afraid of contact, and most importantly, he did something I don't remember seeing Jimmy do: block, release, get open. That video in the previous post shows 2 plays, starting around the 3:10 mark, in which you see Hill engage the DE at the line, hold his block, then release and become a target; reminds me of Tony Gonzalez who was so good at doing that. And no, I am not comparing Hill to Gonzalez. I am just saying Hill has a good trait that was a great strength in Gonzalez' game.

Thanks to Brees, I really think Hill will surprise many this year. Pro Bowl I doubt but another cog in the wheel would be nice. One thing he can do, block, some thing the Saints haven't seen at TE since 2010

I've been a fan of his since I saw him catch his first pass. I really like his style of play. He's physical, blocks and catches well......what's not to like? My only concern is he looks tight whereas Jimmy looked fluid. I would like to see Hill work on his flexibility.

Josh Hill is the answer at TE. We don't have to worry about drafting Jimmy's replacement........but we will need to replace Watson soon. :bng:
