Barring injury to Brees, I don't see the Saints with a 3 game losing streak early in the season.

The New Orleans Saints are a bigger question mark than usual after a 7-9 meltdown and offseason makeover. They still might have the most talent in the NFC South, starting with quarterback Drew Brees. But they have to regain the home dominance that disappeared last season. (They have the NFL’s second-easiest home schedule, based on 2014 winning percentage.)

Game by game predictions in April is like predicting the chance of rain 4 months from now.

Last year I got hoodwinked. Not happening again. If I see the same effort in pre-season from the defense it will be another painful one. It's not the players; it's the attitude. We won a SB with attitude on that side. It was mostly just heart. The blitzes never really did anything, it just looked liked crazy people.

I agree that 2009 team played like their life was at stake. But it was also the 1st year of GW and we confused a lot of teams too.

But I don't think effort was the problem in 2014, at least for the 1st 3/4 of the season. We did look whooped at the end of the season but for most of the season the effort was there. There were just way too many mistakes made in crucial moments. We played dumb football.

I'd be shocked if we played that dumb again.

Adding to your point " GW's Defense confused a lot of people" I think it helped that we started the first 4 games against questionable QB's or rookies, it not only allowed us to confuse them but it gave our D plenty of time to gel before we played the real top tier QB's.

First 4 games

Matt Stafford (rookie)
Kevin Kolb (rookie)
Trent Edwards (questionable)
Mark sanchez (rookie)

Later in the season we stopped - Eli Manning, Matt Ryan x2, Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.

Like you said, Dumb mistakes at crucial times killed us in 2014, leaving WR's wide open with seconds to go vs browns and 49ers, Brees forcing passes trying to bring us back.

My predictions:

NFL package will still cost too much $$.
You can pick up a quality 12 pack of brew for less $$ than covering one for yourself and one for your buddy at any NFL venue.
You will be able to start a new drinking game based on "Bob" Newhart with the words "team in Los Angeles".
