Impact Players Already On The Team
 

It's obvious to the New Orleans Saints fan base that we have several areas of need going into the draft this year. Unlike last year when we thought we were just a couple of players away from having a Superbowl roster. Unfortunately, we discovered that we didn't have the talent or the depth that we thought we had when the season kicked off.

We believed(and so did the FO) that there was a reason for high expectations when looking at the roster. Some players played to expectations but too few to save the season. Between injuries and slow developing rookies that didn't contribute we didn't field a team that was talented or competitive.

Let's look at the roster again this year and tell me who will come off IR, from the PS or deep down the roster and be an impact player for the Saints. See if you can name at least two not named Byrd? :popcorn:

I'm looking at Ediboli and Toon to really step up this season. Dixon may suprize also.

My guess is Coleman, Warren, and Breaux will impress with the limited playing time they receive...

It's not gonna be Edebali... Stop with that. Everything people like about Edebali are the same things we all said about Galette years ago. Edebali hustles, cool... Most undrafted players do to earn their keep. But he's a backup... A good backup but that's it.

I think Breaux is a great choice. I wouldn't be surprised if he started the season ahead of SJB and Dixon on the depth chart.

I'd love to see Powell show us something... But will he be able to ever bounce back from the knee injuries?

For his knee injuries he played rather well on special teams last year; Hill, Edebali, Powell, and Sunseri made the majority of the tackles in the return game...

Breaux will be a big question mark for me going into training camp.

I think last year was still our most talented team ever. We got the dream team big head and several impact players had bad years, and that #2 CB spot absolutely killed us.
I suspect we'll see several players step up this year.

Agreed. Let's face it, part of being a great team is knowing how to handle success... The Saints don't have the rich tradition of success that some teams do so it went to a lot of our players' heads. We got rid of the guys who grinded through the tough times and knew winning wasn't going to be handed to them. Last year it seemed like these guys just expected to win at home because that's the way it's been for the Saints for years now.

Cam Jordan, Hicks, Jenkins, Vaccaro, Byrd, Evans, Colston all had a down year. Imagine if every one of them stepped up in 2015.

Every one of them has the potential to be an impact player this year.
